The board of directors of DNV GL Group has appointed Remi Eriksen as the company’s new group president and CEO. He succeeds Henrik O. Madsen, who will retire Aug. 1 after serving the company for more than 30 years. During the past two decades, Eriksen has held leading positions within the company, where he managed group operations in Asia, Europe and the Americas. It was this experience that led him to his role as DNV GL Group COO, and now group president and CEO.

Mark Mey has been named Transocean’s new executive V.P. and CFO. Mey replaces Esa Ikaheimonen, who stepped down from those positions. Ikaheimonen also resigned as chairman of the board of directors of Transocean Partners LLC, a subsidiary of Transocean. Mey takes on this new role with more than 28 years of experience in the energy and financial services industries, in both the U.S. and South Africa.

Winters Instruments President Jeff Smith has announced the appointment of Brian McClure to executive V.P. Based in Houston, Texas, McClure will be responsible for sales and operations in the U.S. and Mexico. He comes to Winters Instruments with expertise in both instrumentation and the oil and gas sector. He has more than 16 years of experience in various senior sales management positions at Emerson Process Management.

Rockwater Energy Solutions, Inc., has appointed Holli Ladhani to president, CEO and a member of the board of directors, and David Nightingale to executive V.P. and COO. Ladhani was the former executive V.P. and CFO, and most recently was executive V.P. of Rockwater’s Chemical Technologies segment. Nightingale formerly served as the company’s executive V.P. for the Water Management segment. Nightingale came to Rockwater Energy Solutions, Inc., in 2012 after serving in a variety of management roles within the oilfield services sector for his entire 35-year career.

Effective Aug. 1, Laurent Vivier will serve as president of the Gas division at Total. Vivier has been employed with Total since 1996, and has held successive positions in the company’s trading offices in Paris, Geneva, London and Houston. He has been responsible for all trading activities in LPG, and in natural gas, for the European continent and North America. Prior to this appointment, Vivier served as V.P. of strategy and market analysis for the Gas & Power division of Total.

Deepwater construction contractor, Ceona, announced the promotion of the company’s executive V.P. of commercial and business development, Mark Preece, to CEO. Preece will succeed Steve Preston, who, after 40 years in the industry, has decided to retire from operational management.

Curtis Samford has assumed the position of president and CEO at AFGlobal Corporation. Samford began working for AFGlobal as president, Oil and Gas, in 2012. He was then promoted to COO in July 2013. With more than 30 years of industry experience, Samford succeeds Gean Stalcup. After serving as president and CEO for the past five years, Stalcup has been named chairman of the board for AFGlobal.

Suretank has appointed William Wilson to sales manager for Norway. Wilson has more than 20 years of experience working in sales roles within the Norwegian oil and gas sector. As sales manager, Wilson will be responsible for liaising with current and potential clients, growing and extending business in the region, and introducing new processes.

Mitchell R. Flegg has been appointed CEO and a director of Circle Oil Plc, effective June 1. Flegg holds a BS in Physics from Birmingham University and has more than 33 years of industry experience, spanning a wide variety of E&P projects at all levels, most recently with Serica Energy Plc.

Ross Philo has joined Energistics, and been named president and CEO. Philo has worked in the oil and gas industry for companies including Maersk Oil, Halliburton, and Schlumberger for the past 35 years. He has held numerous executive management positions, as well as other technology leadership roles throughout his career.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) has selected Janeen Judah, general manager for Chevron’s Southern Africa Business Unit, as 2017 president of the organization. Judah serves on the SPE board of directors as V.P. of finance. She will take office as president-elect on Sept. 30, at the close of SPE’s Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition in Houston, Texas.

The International Well Control Forum (IWCF) has created a new position to lead technology development—chief technical officer (CTO). David Conroy has been appointed to develop the new role by leading changes to the technical aspects of IWCF’s services, including exam quality, program development, curriculum and training. Conroy joins IWCF from Schlumberger, where he held a variety of positions over the past 10 years, serving recently as drilling and engineering director of curriculum in Dubai.

Amec Foster Wheeler announced the appointment of George Hernandez to president, Upstream Business Development, effective immediately. Based in the company’s Houston office, Hernandez will be responsible for driving the company’s upstream growth strategy, and developing long-term relationships with new and existing key customers, as well as playing a key role in the pursuit of new opportunities. He will report to Jeff Reilly, group president, Strategy and Business Development.

TAG Oil Ltd. has appointed Toby Pierce to CEO and director. Pierce is a natural resource executive with more than 19 years of extensive transactional and valuation experience. Concurrent with Pierce’s appointment to CEO, Alex Guidi will continue to act as chairman of TAG Oil Ltd. The company’s Board now consists of Alex Guidi, Toby Pierce, Keith Hill, Ken Vidalin and Brad Holland.

Global technology leader in the manufacture of wire and fiber rope, Bridon Group, has appointed Tamara Manifis to regional commercial director. Manifis joins Bridon from Regus, a global workplace solutions provider. In her 10 years as a director within the company, she managed sales strategy and performance across more than 20 countries globally.

The Sparrows Group has appointed Steve Bertone as director, in an effort to boost its senior management team. As director, Bertone will head company operations across the Americas. This role oversees provision of engineered products and services in the specialist areas of lifting and handling, cable and pipelay, and fluid power to the offshore oil and gas industry. Bertone has 33 years with McDermott International. Before joining the Sparrows Group, Bertone was McDermott’s V.P. of marine operations, and held the roles of country manager for Qatar and Saudi Arabia.
