Intelligent Drift Solution – Enhance your Rig Preparation service for drilling and completion operations

December 09, 2020
Sponsored by: Vallourec
In the current drilling & completion context, nominal casing data is no longer enough! Operators need actual casing dimensions for critical operations, exact cement displacement volume and an optimized string for casing wear mitigation. Listened to all these feedbacks, Vallourec presents to the market the Intelligent Drift Solution. Thanks to a self-propelled drift and ID measurement system developed by Vallourec, this patented solution will make it possible to acquire an automated tally list from Rig Preparation service without any additional steps. The three-in-one device to drift, including pipe length measurement and pipe ID (min/average/max), can be leveraged to full string ID mapping and is compatible with all Vallourec Smartengo Solutions. This solution can be used for any supplier’s casing, on any tubular yard. It will help you avoids human errors, better assess casing wear, say goodbye to packer leaking problems and drilling excess cement from previous section. Binh Nguyen and Lucas Kling will share the specificities and benefits of this solution and give in-depth insights into the associated applications.

COVID-19 and the Energy Industry – A Transitory Shock or New Path?

December 08, 2020
Sponsored by: AspenTech
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused acute disruptions the world over. The energy sector, in particular, has been severely impacted raising questions like: • How have collapsed oil prices affected investment decisions and strategic priorities? • What measures have companies taken to reduce the stress on their business, finance and people? • What changes are more temporary versus permanent? • How have digitalization initiatives been impacted? These are just some of the questions that Crystol Energy and AspenTech have tackled in an online survey, and now we’re ready to share the findings. Please join Lee Nichols, Editor in Chief of Hydrocarbon Processing, as he hosts a lively discussion with Dr. Carole Nakhle, CEO, Crystol Energy, and Ron Beck, Energy Industry Director, AspenTech. Together, they’ll discuss the results and provide their own unique insight on the current situation facing the energy industry.

The New Generation of Vallourec High-Strength Sour Service Grades

November 05, 2020
Sponsored by: Vallourec
Whatever the level of difficulty of your well environment – in GoM with 20K offshore projects, in Brazil with complex offshore salt domes formations or in the Middle East with extreme sour and high pressure (15K) conditions – Vallourec supports you with a comprehensive tubular offer in high-strength sour service grades. With the decrease of oil prices, operators are further challenging us to push the technical limits in sour service materials by finding the most cost-effective solution that combines high-strength steels and good resistance to sulphide stress cracking (SSC). In this area, VM 110 XS grade has been developed for extreme sour service conditions (ppH2S> 15psi) with 110ksi Specified Minimum Yield Stress (SMYS). The limit is also being pushed further with the field-proven VM 125 SS grade and newly developed VM 125 ESS and VM 130 MS grades with even higher SMYS (125ksi and 130ksi) to be used in milder service conditions. During this webcast, Carine Landier will share the methodology necessary to qualify these materials for such critical conditions. The results so far will reflect both the performance of the new grades developed and the new challenges we face
