Webcasts
World Oil webcasts and webinars are in-depth presentations on oil and gas applications, trends and technology. Moderated by a World Oil editor and including technical experts, these events are focused on providing qualified engineers and professionals in the upstream oil and gas industry with the latest information pertaining to offshore and onshore exploring, drilling, completions and production.

The New Era of Surface Logging: Digital, Automated and Sustainable
March 03, 2022
Sponsored by: Schlumberger
Mud gas and cuttings analysis remains at today the only direct measurement of, respectively, the reservoir fluid and rock, until a PVT sample and a core are available for laboratory analysis.
Surface logging data is an attractive solution for the client to take real-time decisions as they are available while drilling, on a continuous basis and at relatively low cost. Nowadays the accuracy and quality of the surface logging data has reached a level comparable to more sophisticated downhole tools thanks to the technological evolution, processes automation and innovative digital workflows. In this presentation we will describe how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning models and ground-breaking algorithms permit a more quantitative and objective approach to determine lithology classification, enhance the accuracy of the mud gas data even in extreme drilling conditions and enable predicting fluid properties while drilling.

New Technology to Improve Offshore Safety and Operations
February 21, 2022
Sponsored by: Offshore Muster
Technology advances are changing offshore oil and gas operations—simplifying communication, automating processes, decreasing downtime and increasing profitability. In a sector characterized by volatility, leveraging new technologies has been a way to maximize productivity and optimize operations. It also has become foundational to making inherently dangerous activities safer for offshore personnel.
A recently introduced safety management system that focuses on locational awareness for personnel takes a different approach to safety: OffshoreMuster.
Join this webcast to learn more about OffshoreMuster from two of the consortium partners: Dr Symeon Kassianides, founder, CEO and Chairman, Hyperion Systems Engineering Group and Dr Tasos Kounoudes, co-founder and CEO, SignalGeneriX who are joined by Ali el Ali, Managing Director, Zakher Marine International who has been integral in the testing of this new system.

Cementing Technologies: Accelerating the Path to Net-Zero
February 03, 2022
Sponsored by: Schlumberger
Operations can be decarbonized either by reducing energy consumption or by reducing emissions. Cementing technologies that can either improve operational efficiency, have less CO2e embedded during their manufacturing process compared with traditional materials, prevent uncontrolled leak in the environment, or any combination of the above, address sustainability challenges around well construction activities and our industry in general.
CemFIT Heal is a flexible self-healing cement system. It provides competent annular seal, delivers superior mechanical properties and auto-repairs as and when required during the life of the well. This assures long term-well integrity and reduces direct and indirect CO2 emissions.
EverCRETE is a CO2 resistant cement system which not only maintains integrity under exposure to the most critical CO2 conditions but also has self-healing ability to repair cracks and micro annuli on contact with CO2. This enables efficient underground storage to keep greenhouse gases out of the atmosphere.
Our range of lost circulation solutions work in extreme conditions to reduce flat drilling times and improve isolation during cementing hence optimizing energy and chemical consumption.
Cementing technologies that drive high performance, sustainably are needed to accelerate the path to net zero.
