Fig. 2. The Releasable Wireline Cable Head (RWCH) includes seven conductors, and may be used to release the logging wireline via an electrical command from the surface. Fusible material holds a shaft in a locked position, which secures a collet around the wireline anchor mechanism. When wireline is to be released, an electrical command triggers heating coils that melt the fusible material, releasing the shaft and allowing the collet to open and free the wireline. |
