Predictive Digital Pressure Testing: Forging Optimization of Critical Path in New Ways

October 01, 2025
Offshore Technical Compliance
Offshore Technical Compliance is breaking new ground with industry partners in areas of assurance and optimization like never before. Join us for a peek into the future of how pressure testing data and analytics is transforming the optimization of operational procedures, equipment failure analysis; and ground-breaking leak detection that is now providing quality assurance that can save millions of dollars in costly well remediation. This presentation will include examples of how Key Performance Indicators in digital pressure testing (DPT) are creating high performance outcomes for operators and contractors. We will also discuss how pressure testing signatures can now be used as indicators of equipment fatigue or failure. Use of these signatures are leading contractors and operators to significant savings in down time and pinpointing BOP maintenance focal points during in-between well maintenance. Examples will be shown that illustrate how new advances in-leak detection capabilities can be used for assurance in BOP Testing, casing testing and subsea BOP control line soak testing. OTC-GreenLight recently received the first and only DNV-RP-A203 Technology Qualification (TQ) for Digital Pressure Testing. Successful completion of this TQ compliments the existing confidence clients already have in OTC-GreenLight after over a decade of use worldwide. The TQ provides a systematic approach to technology qualification in a manner that ensures traceability throughout the process; (from the determination of functions, targets and expectations to relevant failure modes), qualification activities and evidence. OTC will highlight some of the significant advancements made to GreenLight as a result to the TQ process.
