Emerson adds AI capabilities to Guardian platform for industrial automation
(WO) — Emerson has introduced new artificial intelligence capabilities to its Guardian digital platform, aimed at improving automation performance, troubleshooting and lifecycle support across industrial operations.
The updated platform integrates AI-driven insights with Emerson’s existing automation systems, including DeltaV, Ovation and AMS, enabling users to access system data, diagnostics and guidance through a unified interface. The enhancements are designed to help operators and engineers identify issues more quickly and maintain system performance with reduced downtime.
A key addition is the expanded Guardian Virtual Advisor, which provides natural-language guidance based on Emerson’s technical documentation. The tool enables users to ask operational or maintenance-related questions and receive step-by-step recommendations to support troubleshooting and system optimization.
The platform also introduces customizable dashboards tailored to different user roles, including operators, maintenance teams and engineers. These dashboards provide real-time visibility into system performance and allow users to prioritize critical information relevant to their workflows.
Enhanced knowledge management features, including improved search and access to updates and technical documentation, are intended to support faster issue resolution and more proactive system maintenance. Integrated support workflows also allow users to track service requests and interact with specialists.
Emerson said the updates are designed to support workforce transitions, helping preserve operational knowledge while enabling faster onboarding and upskilling of new personnel.
