Halliburton, PETRONAS, Valaris team up on Suriname offshore development
(WO) — Halliburton has entered into a strategic collaboration with PETRONAS Suriname and Valaris to support offshore development activities in Suriname, focusing on earlier alignment across planning and execution.
The agreement brings together the operator, drilling contractor and service provider at an early stage of the project lifecycle, aiming to improve coordination between subsurface evaluation, well planning and drilling execution.
The collaboration links PETRONAS’ basin expertise with Valaris’ offshore drilling capabilities and Halliburton’s well construction and digital technologies, with the goal of improving project readiness and execution performance.
“This collaboration reflects PETRONAS Suriname’s confidence in our early engagement approach and the ability to establish execution readiness from the outset,” said Shannon Slocum, chief operating officer at Halliburton. “Our integration of subsurface insight with well construction expertise strengthens alignment throughout the development lifecycle and reinforces consistent, high-quality execution with PETRONAS Suriname and Valaris.”
The approach emphasizes early integration of technical workflows, connecting subsurface analysis with drilling and development planning to improve decision-making and efficiency.
The agreement reflects continued momentum in Suriname’s offshore sector, where operators are advancing development strategies for emerging deepwater resources.
