Acteon delivers MHU4400S hammer for offshore foundation installation
(WO) - Acteon’s Marine Foundations business line, Menck, has delivered the first MHU4400S hydraulic hammer system to Heerema Marine Contractors under a multi-million-pound supply agreement. The delivery marks the first phase of a two-hammer contract that will support Heerema’s offshore foundation installation and pile-driving operations.
The MHU4400S hammer will join Heerema’s fleet of Menck systems used for offshore construction and installation projects. The scope of supply includes dedicated transport cradles, specialized tools and consumables, along with Menck Noise Reduction Units (MNRU) designed to help meet environmental compliance requirements during offshore piling campaigns.
Each hammer system is equipped with global navigation satellite system capability and integrated noise-mitigation technology intended to improve operational performance while reducing environmental impact during foundation installation. The equipment is designed to integrate with Heerema’s existing power, control and lifting systems.
Delivery of the second MHU4400S hammer is scheduled for October 2027 as part of Heerema’s phased fleet expansion to support future offshore installation projects.
