Perenco denies reports of legal action by Gabon
(WO) - Perenco has pushed back against recent media reports suggesting that the government of Gabon has initiated legal proceedings against the company, calling the claims “false and defamatory.”
In a statement, the independent oil and gas operator confirmed that no legal action has been launched by the Gabonese state and said it reserves the right to respond to what it described as inaccurate reporting.
The clarification comes amid heightened attention on upstream activity and regulatory developments in Gabon, where Perenco is a significant operator across both onshore and offshore assets.
While the company did not specify the source of the reports, it emphasized that any suggestion of legal proceedings is incorrect.
Perenco said it will continue to monitor the situation and defend its position as needed.
