EnerMech wins five-year FPSO services contract for Kraken field, UK North Sea
(WO) - EnerMech has been awarded a five-year contract to provide crane management and lifting services on the Armada Kraken FPSO, operated by Bumi Armada in the UK North Sea.
The scope, delivered under EnerMech’s Lifting Solutions division, includes crane operations and maintenance, along with helideck and scaffolding support. Additional services—such as shutdown support, hose and pipework integrity, and rotating equipment—may be incorporated over the contract term.
Located east of Shetland, the Kraken FPSO operates in UK block 9/2b and is designed to produce up to 80,000 bbl/d, with storage capacity exceeding 600,000 bbl. The vessel plays a key role in regional offshore output under challenging North Sea operating conditions.
EnerMech will deploy its integrated crewing model, combining crane operators, maintainers and deck crew into a single, multi-skilled team. The approach is designed to reduce personnel on board, streamline workflows and improve overall operational efficiency.
“With decades of experience in crane management and lifting services on FPSOs, our teams bring proven technical excellence and a ‘right-first-time’ mindset to every project,” said CEO Charles “Chuck” Davison Jr.
The company said the model is particularly suited to harsh offshore environments, where maximizing uptime and minimizing downtime are critical to maintaining production targets.
The Kraken award builds on a series of recent North Sea contract wins for EnerMech, including work on the Anasuria and Triton FPSOs, underscoring continued demand for integrated offshore services in the region.
