Baker Hughes secures Petrobras turbomachinery services deal for Brazil offshore operations

March 18, 2026

(WO) - Baker Hughes has secured a 60-month services agreement with Petrobras to support critical turbomachinery across Brazil’s offshore production system and refining operations.

The contract covers maintenance, repair and engineering advisory services for up to 64 aeroderivative gas turbines, including LM2500 and LM6000 units deployed across approximately 19 floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessels, as well as at the Replan refinery in Paulínia, São Paulo.

These turbines play a key role in offshore operations, providing power generation and mechanical drive to support production continuity across Petrobras’ deepwater assets.

“This strategic agreement reinforces our long-standing relationship with Petrobras and our enduring commitment to Brazil’s energy sector,” said Maria Claudia Borras, Baker Hughes Chief Growth and Experience Officer and interim EVP of Industrial & Energy Technology. “Our advanced service solutions, delivered through our local service center, can help improve the reliability and operational efficiency Petrobras needs across its offshore and refining operations while strengthening its energy supply chain.”

Work under the agreement began in February 2026 and is being executed through Baker Hughes’ service center in Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro. The facility, established in 2010 to support Petrobras, provides a range of turbomachinery services including disassembly, inspection and reassembly.

Baker Hughes plans to expand the center’s capabilities, including the addition of advanced grinding technologies, to enhance equipment performance and lifecycle management. The expansion is also expected to strengthen Brazil’s local supply chain and support workforce development.

The award underscores continued investment in lifecycle services and reliability-focused operations across Brazil’s offshore sector, where FPSO-based developments remain central to production growth.
