Bilfinger awarded UK North Sea maintenance contracts with Ithaca Energy, Wood
(WO) - Bilfinger has secured two maintenance contracts covering offshore and onshore energy infrastructure in the UK, including work on Ithaca Energy’s Cygnus gas field in the Southern North Sea and at the St Fergus SAGE gas terminal in Scotland.
The first contract covers access and fabric maintenance services for the Cygnus field, the UK’s largest producing natural gas field. The agreement is scheduled to begin in January 2026. Cygnus comprises three bridge-linked Alpha platforms and the unmanned Cygnus Bravo satellite platform, located approximately 7 km northwest of the main installation. The field connects to the Perenco-operated Bacton terminal and is considered a key contributor to UK gas supply.
The award follows Ithaca Energy’s 2024 acquisition of Eni’s UK upstream assets, which included the Cygnus field.
Bilfinger has also been awarded a fabric maintenance and access support services contract at the St Fergus SAGE Terminal, operated by Wood PLC. The three-year agreement marks a return to the site for Bilfinger and expands its onshore gas infrastructure portfolio.
The company said the contracts reinforce its position in the UK energy services market, particularly in maintenance and integrity support for critical gas production and processing infrastructure.
