Aker BP awards long-term MMO contract to Aker Solutions for North Sea assets

February 16, 2026

Aker BP has awarded Aker Solutions a long-term maintenance, modification and operations (MMO) contract covering all Aker BP-operated assets on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The five-year agreement, effective March 1, 2026, includes options for two additional four-year extensions and establishes a long-term framework for maintenance and modification work across the company’s offshore portfolio. The contract is intended to support continued development of existing fields and facilitate future marginal field projects tied into existing infrastructure.

Under the agreement, the companies will work through an integrated alliance model designed to improve execution efficiency and reduce project timelines. The collaboration will incorporate increased use of data-driven workflows and digital tools, including artificial intelligence applications, to support planning and operational decision-making across offshore assets.

Aker BP said the alliance structure is intended to enhance productivity and improve quality across maintenance and modification programs while supporting modernization of facilities on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. The agreement also provides a framework for closer integration across engineering, operations and project execution teams.

The contract builds on the longstanding working relationship between Aker BP and Aker Solutions and reflects continued focus on cost efficiency and performance improvements across mature offshore assets in Norway’s upstream sector.
