Texas regulatory body hands down over $3.5 million in fines against operators
The Railroad Commission of Texas assessed $3,537,354.25 in enforcement docket fines against operators and businesses at the Commissioners’ open meeting on Tuesday. The Commission has primary oversight and enforcement of the state’s oil and gas industry and intrastate pipeline safety.

"In the absence of timely motions for rehearing, decisions are final as stated in these final orders," said the Railroad Commission of Texas in a statement announcing the fines.
