TechnipFMC wins major subsea contract for Ithaca Energy’s Captain field

December 08, 2025

TechnipFMC has secured a significant subsea contract from Ithaca Energy to deliver flexible pipe systems for the next phase of development at the Captain field in the UK North Sea.

The award—valued by TechnipFMC at between $75 million and $250 million—covers the design, manufacture and installation of flexible risers, flowlines and associated subsea hardware.

The Captain field, which first came onstream in 1997, has undergone multiple upgrades, including an enhanced oil recovery (EOR) program supported by TechnipFMC in 2024. The new award will enable further optimization of the field’s subsea architecture as Ithaca advances long-term production plans.

“We collaborated with Ithaca to optimize the layout and provide a flexible riser solution that can enhance production,” said Jonathan Landes, TechnipFMC’s President, Subsea. “We look forward to strengthening our relationship and supporting their future development ambitions.”

The project reinforces TechnipFMC’s long-standing role in UK North Sea subsea developments and continues the company’s strategy of supplying flexible pipe technology for mature-field redevelopment and EOR-driven production sustainment.
