SLB secures five-year stimulation contract for Aramco’s unconventional gas program
SLB has been awarded a five-year contract by Saudi Aramco to provide stimulation and related services supporting the Kingdom’s unconventional gas development program. The agreement forms part of a broader multi-billion-dollar initiative aimed at expanding Saudi Arabia’s domestic gas production capacity.
Under the contract, SLB will deliver advanced stimulation services, well intervention, frac automation and digital solutions designed to improve efficiency and recovery in unconventional reservoirs. The scope includes technologies focused on optimizing hydraulic fracturing performance and enhancing operational reliability across Aramco’s unconventional gas fields.
The contract supports Saudi Arabia’s strategy to grow gas production as part of its long-term energy mix, supplying domestic demand and reducing reliance on liquid fuels for power generation. Unconventional gas is expected to play a growing role in the Kingdom’s upstream portfolio over the coming decade.
SLB said the award reflects its long-standing presence in Saudi Arabia and experience deploying stimulation and digital technologies at scale in complex unconventional developments.
