Businesses in UK oil & gas sector urged to take advantage of government funding program

July 19, 2022

TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory is calling upon businesses within the oil & gas industry to take advantage of funding offered by Innovate UK as part of its Analysis for Innovators (A4I) program. The next competition for grant funding opens in August 2022, with a second opportunity expected in November.

A4I gives UK companies of any size access to the UK’s top scientists and most advanced facilities, techniques and technologies in the world. It aims to boost productivity and competitiveness by helping companies to solve problems in innovative ways.

TÜV SÜD is one of nine partners providing their expertise as part of the A4I program. It has already helped hundreds of UK companies solve major measurement challenges affecting their business. This has included testing flow measurement systems and components under realistic field conditions, as well as using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to improve the performance and integrity of a wide array of technologies. TÜV SÜD’s Data Science team has also been instrumental in helping many companies integrate artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning capabilities into products.

“A4I can help businesses to solve problems that they have been unable to tackle using standard technologies and techniques,” said Lynn Hunter, Business Development Manager at TÜV SÜD National Engineering Laboratory. “TÜV SÜD has experience in supporting a range of businesses across different industry sectors and A4I gives even more of them access to our facilities, which are equipped with the largest and most diverse range of full-scale flow test facilities in the world. They can also collaborate with our team of measurement scientists, who use the most advanced techniques to develop easily-integrable, cost-effective solutions.”
