Future Energy Professionals program offers STEM experience at LAGCOE 2019

LAFAYETTE, LA - LAGCOE’s Future Energy Professionals (FEP) program provides industry education to students to ensure a constant and qualified workforce pipeline for generations to come.  One of the ways LAGCOE garners student interest is through guided FEP tours, held during LAGCOE’s biennial oil technical exposition and conference, LAGCOE 2019, to be held Thursday, October 10 from 10AM – 1PM.

Young Professionals of LAGCOE and engineering student volunteers from UL Lafayette, Louisiana State University, Tulane, UNO, Delgado Community College, and Fletcher Community College will team up to introduced high school juniors and seniors interested in the STEM field, to the energy industry through an organized tour of LAGCOE 2019. The tour will give students access to a hands-on experience with the technology and mechanics of the oil and gas industry. 

LAGCOE 2019 FEP Tour, sponsored by the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Halliburton, will be held Thursday, October 10 from 10AM – 1PM at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA. After the tour, attendees will be eligible to apply for the LAGCOE FEP Scholarship, which is awarded to students planning to pursue a degree in a STEM-related field of study in a two-year or four-year Louisiana school.
