Colorado Petroleum Council, Colorado Oil and Gas Association lead rally to protect Colorado jobs against Senate Bill 181
DENVER -- Today, the Colorado Petroleum Council and the Colorado Oil and Gas Association will join energy workers and supporters from across Colorado for a rally to protect and defend the hundreds of thousands of Colorado jobs supported by the state’s oil and gas industry.
Senate Bill 181, introduced by Colorado’s Democrat leadership on Friday, will impact working families and businesses across the state and threaten a major revenue source for public schools and other basic services at the state and local level. The bill is being rushed through the legislative process without a formal stakeholder process and without customary review by those who would be impacted by its passage.
The measure faces its first hearing in the Senate Transportation & Energy Committee on Tuesday, March 5th. Energy workers and their allies will rally in support of their livelihoods prior to that hearing.
