Chemstream has launched innovative hydraulic fracturing friction reducer technology

HOMER CITY, Pa. -- Chemstream Oilfield Services today announced its hydraulic fracturing friction reducer technology (StimSTREAM FR 9800) is reaching up to a 40% decrease in FR usage and has provided significant hydraulic fracturing chemical savings for six natural gas producers in the Appalachian Shale basin.  
The announcement is the culmination of a year of work by Chemstream’s in-house research and development laboratory, and the successful deployment of the technology on multiple well stages and lateral evaluations.
Chemstream president Dave McCombie expressed confidence that the company’s StimSTREAM FR 9800 Nano-Dispersion viscosifying technology is the most significant advancement in the FR process since the inception of “slick-water” hydraulic fracturing. “Our research and development has demonstrated that this technology is capable of helping operators lower costs and stimulate reservoir volumes at higher treatment rates for better well production,” said McCombie.  
As part of Chemstream’s business model, the chemical company is offering complimentary lab analysis from its oilfield laboratory along with no-cost stage evaluations to all new producers across the Marcellus and Utica shale play.
The unique StimSTREAM FR 9800 Nano-Dispersion viscosifying technology has allowed for up to a 40% reduction in FR usage while maintaining lower pumping pressures at rates exceeding 100 bpm. The technology has proved to be effective in all hydraulic fracturing water quality scenarios, as shown in the graph.
