Tata Steel makes key appointment to support business growth

MUMBAI, India -- Tata Steel has announced a key appointment as the company looks to maximize on an upturn in its oil and gas activity.

Peter Bradshaw joins Tata Steel as technical sales manager – energy & power with nine years of experience in technical sales and the oil and gas industry. His focus will be on Tata Steel’s offshore line pipe products, including the benefits of Tata’s successful high frequency induction (HFI) pipe.

While Peter’s remit will be to support the global oil and gas industry, a growing return to optimism in the North Sea has seen an increase in business for Tata Steel.

Having supplied more than one million tonnes of pipeline for oil and gas projects in the North Sea over 24 years, including in excess of 500,000 m of reel installed pipe and more than $321 million (£250 million) invested in subcontracts for North Sea projects, Tata Steel has the experience, capabilities and innovative ambition required to continue to serve this important market.

Peter said, “I believe this is an extremely exciting time to join Tata Steel, as we are seeing the oil and gas industry return to growth once more and our own activity grow with it.

“While we provide a wide range of steel products and services, our HFI welded line pipes, available in diameters from two to 20 in. and strength grades up to API 5L X70, are answering the modern industry’s demands for a cost-effective solution to seamless pipe.
