Subsea 7 chosen for BP Caspian Sea construction project

SUTTON, UK - Subsea 7 announced today the award of two contracts by BP Exploration for the Azeri Central East project in the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli field in the Caspian Sea, in a water depth of approximately 140 meters.

The work scopes comprise engineering and fabrication of subsea structures, engineering, transport and installation of spools, the launching of a 16,200-ton jacket and the float-over of an 18,500-ton topside.

The contracts will be executed in consortium with BOS Shelf, which will be responsible for the fabrication, logistics and facilities support. Engineering work shall commence immediately from Subsea 7’s office in France and offshore execution is expected to take place in 2021 and 2022.
