Equinor has been granted drilling permits from Deepsea Bergen and West Hercules facility

STAVANGER -- Well 35/11-22 S will be drilled from the Deepsea Bergen drilling facility in position 61°5'2.27"N and 3°20'56.92"E after completing the drilling of wildcat well 6407/11-1 for Equinor Energy AS in production license 751.

The drilling program for well 35/11-22 S relates to the drilling of wildcat wells in production license 248 C. Equinor Energy AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 30%. The other licensees are Petoro (40%) and Wellesley Petroleum AS (30%).

The area in this license consists of the southwestern part of block 35/11. The well will be drilled about 9 km west of the Fram field and about 100 km west-northwest of Mongstad.

Production license 248 C was carved out from production license 248 on April 9, 2013. This is the second well to be drilled in the license.

In addition, Well 7132/2-1 will be drilled from the West Hercules drilling facility in position 71°51'55.87"N and 32°25'56.42"E after concluding the drilling of appraisal well 7122/7-7 S for Eni Norge AS in production license 229.

The drilling program for well 7132/2-1 relates to the drilling of wildcat wells in production license 857. Equinor Energy AS is the operator with an ownership interest of 40%. The other licensees are Aker BP ASA (20%), Lundin Norway AS (20%) and Petoro (20%).

The area in this license consists of blocks 7232/10, 7132/1,2,6 and 7133/4 and the southern part of blocks 7132/3 and 7133/1. The well will be drilled about 175 km north of Vardø.

Production license 857 was awarded on 10 June 2016 in the 23rd licensing round on the Norwegian Shelf. This is the first well to be drilled in the license.

The permits are contingent on the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to commencing the drilling activity.
