ST PETERSBURG -- Gazprom Neft has opened up a new field in Serbia with recoverable reserves in the order of 432,000 tonnes. Naftna Industrija Srbije (NIS Oil Company, Serbia) has successfully completed drilling of exploration well Idos-X-4 in the Neogene deposits, of which Idos-Sever (Northern Idos) field has been discovered at a depth of 2,268 to 2,287 m.

The Idos-X-4 well was constructed on the basis of the company’s own 3D seismic data and subsequent interpretations. The initial flowrate obtained on well completion totalled 27.8 tonnes of hydrocarbons per day. The new field is currently in pilot development. Development drilling at Idos-Sever field is expected to begin in 2017.
