KATY, Texas – Dyna-Drill, a Schlumberger company, held a facility tour and lunch to celebrate the grand opening of its new world headquarters west of Houston. The company also marked over sixty years of experience in manufacturing downhole motor equipment.

The new facility is located on a 17-acre site in Katy with a 340,000 sq-ft building that encompasses a manufacturing plant, R&D labs and material handling facility. Dyna-Drill will manufacture an extensive range of downhole drilling equipment from power sections for drilling motors, to rotors and stators for progressive cavity pumps, tungsten carbide bearings and precision machining services such as milling, grinding and boring for oilfield applications.

The new facility enables Dyna-Drill to bring under one roof all of its manufacturing and R&D resources, including CNC machining centers, a trepanning machine, a high-capacity vacuum furnace, product testing laboratory, and an advanced elastomer and quality control measure laboratory, allowing the development of two types of rubber compounds, (NBR and HSN), that are produced to serve specific drilling environments.
