Subsea Technologies appoints Mark Vorenkamp as new chairman
Aberdeen-based well intervention specialist Subsea Technologies Ltd has appointed Mark Vorenkamp as chairman with immediate effect.
Mark’s career in the offshore oil and gas industry spans nearly 40 years. He began his UK-based oil and gas career in 1973 and for 7 years managed a fleet of offshore vessels in the North Sea and West Africa, for Acadian Shipping in Edinburgh.
Mark has a 30-year track record in the subsea survey industry, and has held the position of managing director of Brown & Root’s international survey division, Subsea Offshore Survey and Fugro-UDI.
He was a founding partner in 2000 of deepwater survey and positioning company Century Subsea Ltd which was acquired by DOF Subsea UK in 2006 to become the cornerstone of their operations in the UK and Gulf of Mexico. Mark is also a non-executive director of PanGeo Subsea Inc, a Canadian company developing innovative acoustic 3D and 4D imaging technology.
Subsea Technologies Ltd is a subsea engineering business based, Aberdeen, with specialist expertise in subsea well intervention and well control. The company specialises in engineering solutions between the vessel deck and the subsea wellhead and has developed some of the world’s first-purpose built subsea well intervention technologies — the High Angle Emergency Disconnect Package and our Stackable Lightweight Intervention Connector (SLIC). Patents are pending for both these designs, and the company continues to develop other subsea intervention-related technologies. All STL products have been developed to cope with the demanding requirements of both constant operation in harsh conditions and maximum operational uptime for minimum maintenance downtime.
STL also provides an industry-leading bespoke design and manufacturing service, developing both product and system-level technology to meet to clients’ well access needs.
