American Gilsonite Company (AGC), exclusive supplier of Gilsonite, has appointed Craig Mueller as V.P. and CCO.

American Gilsonite Company (AGC), exclusive supplier of Gilsonite, has appointed Craig Mueller as V.P. and CCO. Mueller has more than 30 years of experience in the industry with extensive knowledge in oilfield operations, international business relationships, business development and commercial strategy. He joins AGC from Baker Hughes, a GE company’s executive leadership team, where he most recently served as V.P. of sales for the ExxonMobil account.

Kosmos Energy CEO and Founding Partner Brian F. Maxted elected to retire from the company, effective Feb. 15, 2019. Maxted will remain on the board of directors and continue to serve as a special advisor on matters related to exploration. Ms. Tracey Henderson assumed the role of CEO upon Maxted’s retirement. Henderson joined Kosmos Energy in 2004, serving as a key member of the technical team responsible for the discovery of the Jubilee field in Ghana, Greater Tortue Ahmeyim field in Mauritania and Senegal, and Yakaar field in Senegal.  

SNC-Lavalin (SNC) has named Craig Muir as successor to Christian Brown, president, oil & gas, effective April 2019. Muir joins the company from Petrofac, where he was the group’s CCO and a member of their executive committee. He brings over 30 years of international industry experience to the role. He has an MBA from the University of Strathclyde and a background in mechanical and production engineering.

ValvTechnologies, Inc., manufacturer of zero-leakage, severe-service isolation valve solutions, has appointed Keith Whittaker as director of global quality management. Most recently, Whittaker served as director of quality for General Plastics and Composites, L.P., for six years. Prior to this, he held senior quality management positions at Oceaneering International, Inc., Dana Corporation, and E-Z-GO Textron. In addition, the company has appointed Mark Abbott as director of engineering. Abbott joined the company in June 2016 as product engineering and design manager, later adding the nuclear engineering role to his responsibilities. With more than 17 years of experience, he served as engineering manager with Schlumberger’s completions division. Prior to this, he led Flowserve’s Durco product design team and worked as a research engineer and a senior drilling engineer for ExxonMobil.

Clean-tech innovator, Acceleware, has appointed Laura McIntyre as V.P., engineering and Brian LeBlanc as CFO. McIntyre is a professional engineer with over 15 years of industry experience, the majority of which involved work on thermal in-situ projects at two major oil sands producers. LeBlanc is a CPA, CMA with over 32 years of experience across a wide variety of accounting and managerial arenas. Previously, he served as a senior executive within a number of public and private companies of varying sizes.

European steel producer, Tata Steel, has appointed Peter Bradshaw as technical sales manager – energy & power. Bradshaw brings nine years of experience in technical sales to the role. Prior to this, he served as national sales engineer for Phoenix Ltd., sales manager for Grecon Limited, UK, field sales engineer for Rembe Ltd. and sales engineer for Orthos Ltd.

Halliburton Company has named Dr. M. Katherine Banks and Ms. Patricia Hemingway Hall to its board of directors. The appointments were effective Feb. 13, 2019, and both will stand for election by stockholders at the company’s annual meeting May 15, 2019. Dr. Banks, as the Texas A&M vice-chancellor of engineering and national labs, oversees engineering research and technology development programs for the system, including three state agencies, and national laboratory engagement and management contracts. She also serves as dean of Texas A&M University’s College of Engineering. Ms. Hemingway Hall served as the president and CEO of Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC), from November 2008 to December 2015. Previously, she served as executive V.P. of internal operations for HCSC and president of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. She has been recognized as a Leadership Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors and currently serves on the board of the Corporate Leadership Council. Ms. Hemingway Hall has received numerous recognitions for her leadership in the healthcare industry.

OPITO, a global, not-for-profit skills body for the energy industry, has appointed Stuart Clow as director, with a focus on supporting industry safety. Clow has over 30 years of experience in the industry, in a variety of roles, both in the UK and internationally. Prior to this, he spent 28 years with Transocean, where he began his career as a roustabout, promoted to senior drilling roles, and eventually transitioned onshore to human resources and competency. Most recently, Clow spent the last 16 months with Norwegian firm COSL Drilling Europe AS, where he established crew resource requirements for its North Sea operations.

Royal Dutch Shell intends to propose at its 2019 Annual General Meeting that Neil Carson be appointed a director of the company. Prior
to this, Carson served as former FTSE 100 chief executive. In addition, he joined Johnson Matthey in 1980, where he held several senior management positions, before his appointment to CEO, in 2004. Since retiring in 2014, he has focused his time on non-executive roles. Carson serves as honorary president of the Society for the Chemical Industry and was awarded an OBE for services to the Chemical Industry in 2016.

Zargon Oil & Gas Ltd. has appointed Glenn Koach to the board of directors. Koach is co-founder/portfolio manager of SEC-registered investment adviser, Concise Capital Management, LP.

His Excellency Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of State and Group CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), was presented with the “International Lifetime Achievement Award” for his outstanding contributions to the global energy industry. The award was presented to him by His Excellency Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, at the Petrotech energy conference in New Delhi, India. The honor recognizes H.E. Dr. Al Jaber’s contribution to defining best practices for a national oil company of the future, and for strengthening ADNOC’s strategic links with key growth markets, including India.

International energy consultancy Xodus Group has appointed Karen Nash as social impact specialist. Nash, who will be based in London, will be responsible for developing and enhancing social performance, including social impact assessment and management approaches, stakeholder engagement and community development and partnership. In addition, Nash brings more than 24 years of international experience to the role. Prior to this, she led the review of all social performance issues at Anglo American.

Canadian energy company, Cequence, has named Allan Mowbray, CPA, CA, as CFO. Mowbray has over 25 years of public accounting, financial reporting and leadership experience, most recently as CFO at a publicly traded Canadian oilfield services company.
