Aquaterra Energy has completed the delivery of a Sea Swift conductor supported platform (CSP) for DeNovo Energy in the Gulf of Paria, offshore Trinidad and Tobago.

Aquaterra Energy has completed the delivery of a Sea Swift conductor supported platform (CSP) for DeNovo Energy in the Gulf of Paria, offshore Trinidad and Tobago. According to the company, this is the first platform of its kind to be installed in the country, and it was completed in just 10 months. Sea Swift was installed from a jackup rig in Iguana field, in a water depth of about 27 m. It accommodates up to four wells and includes local power generation, manifolds and a control system. On behalf of Thyna Petroleum Services (TPS), Xodus Group has delivered a decommissioning and abandonment study for wells, surface and subsea facilities in Tunisia. During the six-week study, Xodus developed a decommissioning cost estimate for four onshore fields, one offshore field and two onshore storage and processing sites. The scope of work reportedly included the creation of an asset register, the development of an abandonment strategy and site remediation in line with current industry best practices and regulations. 

China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) has signed agreements with Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), obtaining stakes in two of Abu Dhabi’s offshore concession areas. Through its subsidiary, PetroChina, CNPC has been granted a 10% interest in the Umm Shaif and Nasr concession, as well as a 10% interest in the Lower Zakum concession. In an effort to maximize commercial value, broaden the partner base, expand technical expertise and enable greater market access, the concessions were formed from the previous ADMA offshore concession. The agreements have a term of 40 years.

Statoil has awarded key drilling contracts to Archer, KCA Deutag and Odfjell Drilling for drilling, completion, intervention services, plugging, maintenance and modifications on 18 of its fixed platforms. Total value of the awarded contracts is estimated at more than NOK 12 billion. They are for an initial period of four years, with three two-year extension options. According to Statoil, the work will employ about 2,000 people each year.

Offshore inspection company AISUS has secured its first major contract win in the Middle East. The contract, awarded by North Oil Company (NOC), is for two caisson inspection programs across two assets in Al Shaheen field. Al Shaheen—situated nearly 50 mi off Qatar’s northeastern coast, in the Persian Gulf—represents about half of the nation’s oil production. With 33 platforms producing about 100 MMbbl of oil per annum, the field is considered one of the world’s largest and most complex. Under terms of the contract, AISUS will employ its gravity deployed ultrasonic scanning tool, SIRIUS-X, to capture inspection data.

BP is committing to two new North Sea developments expected to produce 30,000 boed, gross, at peak production. The developments, Alligin and Vorlich, are satellite fields situated close to existing infrastructure. According to BP, Alligin will be tied back to the Glen Lyon FPSO vessel (pictured). Fara Holdco Limited, owner of Bibby Offshore, is merging with Rever Offshore AS. Rever Offshore’s subsidiaries include CECON Contracting AS, an international subsea and offshore contractor, and two vessel companies. The merger of Bibby and CECON will form a larger, stronger offshore installation delivery business that will focus on its core diving and subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) markets. According to the company, the transaction positions it for larger and more complex scopes of work globally.

Henderson has secured a 30-acre property in Humble, Texas, to provide turnkey, multi-rig refurbishment and manufacturing. The 80,000-ft2 property will accommodate consolidation of the company’s three Houston facilities. According to the firm’s president and COO, this will allow a more holistic service approach to completing rig overhauls. Additionally, its product and service offerings will be extended beyond its FDS hydraulic top drives, mud pump and top drive repairs, and recertifications.

Sparrows Group has been awarded a multi-million-pound contract with India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (ONGC) for the refurbishment of 21 cranes. Under terms of the agreement, Sparrows will refurbish, repair, upgrade or replace all components and machinery. The project reportedly will extend the life of the cranes for a further 15 to 20 years. To reduce time and cost, refurbishment of each crane will be carried out onsite. However, the company says that any major boom work will be performed at its facility in Mumbai. Opero Energy, an Audobon Companies affiliate, has opened a new fabrication facility in Houston, Texas. The 60,000-ft2 facility is part of the company’s strategy to increase its global development and commercial capacity to meet customer demands. It will be equipped with the latest fabrication tools and technologies. According to Opero, the facility’s in-house capabilities will include engineered modular processing, as well as standardized and custom-built modules.

Petroteq Energy has announced plans to open marketing offices in key international markets, initially targeting Switzerland, Russia and Ukraine. As PetoBLOO—a consortium of oil and gas producers—continues to grow its membership, the company is strategically expanding its footprint in locations that will help develop a supply chain management platform for the oil and gas industry, based on advanced blockchain technology. wo-box_blue.gif
