The Louisiana State University College of Engineering inducted Gary R. Wooley to its 2010 Hall of Distinction. Wooley, who received his BS, MS and PhD degrees in engineering sciences from LSU, is President of Wooley Associates, Inc. He founded Enertech Engineering and Research Co. in 1978, which was eventually purchased by Halliburton. He formed Wooley & Associates in 1986.

Superior Energy Services named Tom Rosegrant as VP of its Well Services Division. He will be responsible for the division’s employees and all aspects of operations, budgeting and forecasting. He is a 40-year industry veteran who spent 24 years with Exxon before joining Superior in 1996, where he was Operations Manager and VP of Operations.

The Dow Chemical Co. appointed Craig Arnold General Manager of Dow Oil & Gas, headquartered in Houston. Arnold began his Dow career in 1997, holding various commercial roles in South Africa and Switzerland. Most recently he served as Director of Corporate Development. Arnold succeeds Janet Giesselman, who will retire at the end of the 2010.

Oilfield service company Expro has named Chris Mawtus as its COO, overseeing the company’s activities in North America, the Middle East and North Africa, Asia, Europe and CIS, Latin America, and Southern and West Africa. Mawtus, who will be based in the UK, was previously President of Expro North America, based in Houston.

Stuart Ferguson has joined Perth, Australia-based Peak Well Services as a Special Adviser. Previously, he worked for Weatherford International Ltd., where he had served in a number of roles, including Senior VP for Reservoir and Production, Chief Technology Officer and Divisional President for Completion.

Hercules Offshore Inc. appointed Stephen M. Butz, currently serving as VP, Finance and Treasurer, as Senior VP, CFO and Treasurer. He succeeds Lisa W. Rodriguez, who will remain with the company as VP, Human Resources. Prior to joining the company in 2005, Butz served as a consultant to Noble Corp. Also, Troy L. Carson, currently VP and Corporate Controller, was named Chief Accounting Officer. Carson joined the company in March 2007 and was named Principal Accounting Officer in July 2008.

UTEC Survey has appointed Steve Williamson as CFO. He was most recently VP of Finance with Helix Energy Solutions and, prior to that, VP of Corporate Administration with Canyon Offshore. He also spent 11 years in various engineering and management positions with Hewlett-Packard.

Valerus Compression Services has named R. Todd Rimmer as the company’s CFO and Senior VP, and Gary C. McKinney as Chief Human Resources Officer. Since February 2008, Rimmer has served as Senior VP and CFO of Sequent Energy Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of AGL Resources. McKinney served previously as VP of Human Resources for Amec plc.

Hyperdynamics Corp. has named Michael W. Palmer as its VP of Operations. Palmer has extensive operational experience with Amoco Corp., Nations Energy and, most recently, Oudeh Petroleum. He has worked in Gabon, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Belize and Syria.

Deep Down Inc. announced the appointment of Gay Stanley Mayeux as VP and CFO of the company. Former CFO Eugene L. Butler will continue to serve as Executive Chairman of the company. Mayeux brings over 25 years of financial management experience in the energy sector, having served as VP-Finance and Treasurer for Willbros Group. She was also previously VP and Corporate Controller of Weatherford International.

InterMoor, an Acteon company, has named Steve Chew as Business Development Manager and Albert Chen as Engineer. Based at InterMoor’s Singapore office, Chew has more than 10 years of industry experience, and will be responsible for the company’s activities in Southeast Asia. He worked previously as Marketing Manager of Toll Offshore Petroleum Services. Chen received his MS degree in civil engineering in 2008.

Ivanhoe Energy Inc. has promoted David Dyck to the position of President and COO. Robert Friedland will continue to serve as Co-Chairman and CEO. Dyck joined the company in October 2009 as President and CEO of Ivanhoe Energy Canada to head the Tamarack Project and other heavy oil initiatives in Western Canada, and was subsequently appointed Executive VP, Capital Markets. Previously, he was Senior VP, Finance, and CFO with Calgary-based Western Oil Sands. Immediately prior to joining Ivanhoe, Dyck was Executive Director and CEO of LeaRidge Capital.

Marathon Oil Corp. elected Eileen M. Campbell as VP of Public Policy. Currently serving as Marathon’s VP of Human Resources, she will be responsible for the company’s Federal, State and International Government Affairs, Corporate Social Responsibility and Administrative Services organizations. Also, Robert L. Sovine has been elected VP of Human Resources.
