Devon Energy completed its acquisition of Mitchell Energy & Development. J. Todd Mitchell was elected to Devon’s board of directors. He had been a member of Mitchell’s board since 1993. He serves as president of GPM, Inc., a family-owned investment company and president of Dolomite Resources, Inc., as well as chairman of Rock Solid Images, a privately owned seismic data analysis software company.

BJ Process and Pipelines Services appointed Carl Mook as base manager of its operational facility in Dubai, UAE, overseeing all financial and operations management for the Middle East region division. Stuart Murphy was appointed well services manager for the UK with its well services division-Europe & Africa region. Brian Forgie was appointed West Africa area manager. New bases were opened in Equitorial Guinea and Gabon.

W. Dennis Heagney will retire from Transocean Sedco Forex Inc. in June 2002, after 33 years of service. He began his career in 1969 with the Offshore Company, a predecessor of Transocean Sedco Forex, and has worked in a variety of operating and marketing roles.

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. elected John N. Seitz, currently president and COO, CEO as well. Robert J. Allison, Jr., will remain chairman of the board.

Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas was installed as chairman of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission at its annual meeting in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

George B. Nilsen joined Nuevo Energy as senior VP of planning and asset management, including acquisitions and divestitures, oil and gas marketing and risk management.

Matheson Tri-Gas, Inc. appointed William J. Kroll as president and CEO, based in Parsippany, NJ. All five operating divisions will report to him.

NuTec Sciences, Inc., has appointed Richard C. White president and CEO of NuTec Energy Services, Inc. Current president Thomas M. LaHouse has assumed the duties of COO, responsible for daily operations and technology development. The firm provides seismic imaging solutions, using massively parallel supercomputing technology.

George F. Sandison joined T. H. Hill as co-owner and senior VP. The firm provides drill-string design, consulting engineering and prevention of drill-string failures.

Osprey Energy Ltd. announced the appointment of Bernard P. Robichaux as senior VP of oil and gas operations.

Jim Byerlotzer of Key Energy Services Inc. was installed as president of the Association of Energy Service Companies (AESC) in a ceremony in Monterey, California. Other national officers include first VP, Charlie Moncla, Moncla Well Service Inc.; second VP, Kenny Jordan, Computalog Wireline; and treasurer, Carlos Kenda, National Oilwell.

James Lee Wilson was named the 2002 recipient of Sidney Powers Memorial Award, the highest honor bestowed by the 30,000-member American Association of Petroleum Geologists. Wilson is presently professor emeritus at the University of Michigan and adjunct professor at Rice University, where he also was a chair professor. WO
