Now, more than ever, is the time to attend World Oil’s HPHT Drilling and Completions Conference
High-pressure, high-temperature (commonly known as HPHT) operations have grown in importance during the last 10 years, as operators expand the areas explored and developed, particularly offshore. Two of the largest regions affected by HPHT conditions are the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea.
Accordingly, research into how to safely handle HPHT wells and still keep their drilling and completion costs down has been expanding, in tandem with greater numbers of these wells being drilled. This is where World Oil’s conference comes into play. Just like the last several years, the 2019 event’s full, two-day, two-track agenda is packed will speakers, panelists and presentations on the latest HPHT-related technical breakthroughs and equipment innovations.
The conference will feature two important keynote speakers: Evan Zimmerman, Executive Director, Offshore Operators Committee (Day 1); andClay Williams, President, Chairman and CEO, National Oilwell Varco (Day 2). In addition, examples of operators with speakers and presenters include Anadarko Petroleum (now Occidental), CNPC, Equinor, Keldur Petroleum, Pemex and Aramco Research Center.
Governmental and NGO entities also participating include Aramco Research Center, BSEE, the Offshore Operators Committee, Southwest Research Institute and Southwest Petroleum University (China). And nearly three-dozen equipment, service, engineering and consulting firms will lend their expertise to the various technical sessions.
Finally, consider that the two significant HPHT regions—the U.S. Gulf of Mexico and the North Sea—are on the rebound. Compared to a year ago, active rigs are up 74% on the UKCS, and 53% higher in the U.S. Gulf. This heightens the importance of the material presented at this year’s conference.
