LAGCOE 2017 selected as a 2017 International Buyer Program Select event

HOUSTON -- LAGCOE 2017 has been selected by the U.S. Department of Commerce as one of only two oil and gas expositions to participate in its International Buyer Program Select in 2017. Through this program, attendees have a chance to make one-on-one contacts with industry decision makers and develop dynamic business relationships. The International Buyer Program, a joint government industry effort, is coordinated by the U.S. Department of Commerce who assists our international guests in meeting with targeted exhibitors to cultivate partnerships.

Export counseling and business to business meetings will take place in the LAGCOE International Trade Center in the Convention Center 2nd Level from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24 and Wednesday, October 25, and 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 26.

LAGCOE 2017 will feature international presentations covering opportunities in Canada, Colombia, Ghana, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates, as well as a session dedicated to teaching proper business practices abroad.

On Tuesday, October 24, at 11:00 a.m., Ibrahim Al-Alawi, Deputy CEO, AlMansoori and George Litman, III, Director of Operations for the Office of Middle East and Africa (MEA), U.S. Commercial Service join forces to present “Business Opportunities in UAE.” At 1:00 p.m., Nawaf AlArdhi, Strategic Sourcing Specialist, Aramco Services Company (ASC) Houston, and Myra Bozeman, Supplier Relations Team Leader, Aramco Services Company (ASC) Houston will present, “Doing Business in Saudi Arabia and with Aramco Services Company.” Tuesday’s final international presentation will be a panel discussion, focusing on the Current Energy Business Climate in Mexico. Panelists include: Ing. Gustavo Hernandez-Garcia, P.Eng., M.Sc., Director, PEMEX E&P; Dr. Jesus Serrano Landeros, Commissioner of the Mexico Energy & Regulatory Commission, Dr. Ernesto Rios Patron, Director General, Insituto Mexicano del Petroleo; and Matt McCarroll, President & CEO, Fieldwood Energy

Wednesday’s international sessions will kick off with a panel focusing on, “Business Opportunities in Canada,” presented by Danielle McDaid, Consul and Trade Commissioner, Canadian Consulate Houston; Delon Chan, Consul and Trade Commissioner, Consulate General of Canada, Dallas; and Crystal Roberts, Senior Commercial Specialist, United States Commercial Services Calgary. International sessions continue with, “Doing Business Overseas, Avoiding the Pitfalls, presented by Jim Bowen, President, Momentum Development Corporation. “Colombia Offshore Exploration – Opportunities and Challenges,” will be at 1:30 p.m. , presented by: Sergio Hoyos, Latin America Business Unit Facilities Engineering Manager, Chevron; Omar Mejia, Technical VP, Colombia National Hydrocarbons Agency; Alexandra Hernández, Vice President, Colombian Petroleum Association; and Andrew Mehlhop, VP International Exploration, Anadarko. “Business Opportunities in Ghana” will wrap up LAGCOE 2017’s international presentations schedule at 3:45 p.m.
