Abrado performs single spacer direct displacement for GOM operator

March 20, 2018

HOUSTON -- Abrado announced today that it has completed its first true single spacer direct displacement for a major shelf operator in the Gulf of Mexico using its VeriClean 200X chemical system.

The system is a proprietary wellbore displacement surfactant used for displacing water based, synthetic and oil based muds to clear brine fluids. It is designed to remove mud residue and solids from the wellbore, casing and other metal surfaces on the first application.

The service company has demonstrated the value of its displacement technology by successfully performing a true single spacer displacement service, displacing a 15.2 ppg synthetic based mud directly to 15.5 ppg ZnBr2, thus saving the operator more than $500,000 in conventional indirect displacement costs, disposal and rig time.
