InterMoor, an Acteon company, has named Jim Macklin as V.P. of projects and engineering. Key functions of his new role include providing leadership and experience to the projects and engineering departments. Macklin will have overall responsibility for projects and engineering functions, and provide commercial and contractual oversight for new business ventures. Based in Houston, he will also assist other InterMoor companies in their larger projects. Macklin has more than 35 years of technical, marketing, operational and management experience.


Terry Fike, a 40-plus-year industry veteran, has been appointed well control specialist at DOYLES. Fike has spent the last 27 years in well control for Patterson UTI. Previously, he served  10 years at Parker Drilling.


Jaya Holdings Ltd. has appointed Max Hartvigsen as president of the Offshore division. Hartvigsen is responsible for business development, profit and loss for the fleet of owned and chartered vessels, and operational excellence of the fleet, including technical management.


Orca Exploration Group has named Beer van Straten as COO. He will assume responsibility for the company’s field operations, including a large-scale development and exploration drilling program in Tanzania.


ABS has promoted V.P. and current Chief Engineer Dr. Kirsi Tikka to president and COO of the ABS Europe Division. The division is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the society throughout Scandinavia, Northern and Southern Europe, the British Isles, the wider Mediterranean region and Africa. Tikka, a native of Finland, takes over from John McDonald who is transferring to Houston as V.P. and chief of staff of the organization. Tikka previously served as professor of naval architecture at the Webb Institute and was employed with Chevron.


EPC Offshore has appointed new managers to work on two of the North Sea’s biggest developments. Project manager Euan Sellar will focus on the final phases of the Rochelle field development for Endeavour Energy in the Central North Sea. With more than 18 years of technical experience in the oil and gas industry, Sellar has worked within the engineering, operations and project management disciplines for a number of operators including Marathon, Total and Shell. Rob Harris, meanwhile, joins EPC as study team leader on the Lancaster development for Hurricane, one of the most significant oil discoveries in the West of Shetlands in recent years. Harris joins with 30 years of process and facilities experience working on several development plans for Shell, ConocoPhillips, Chevron and BG Group in the North Sea.


Global Process Systems (GPS), a member of the Al-Jaber Group, has appointed senior finance professional Scott Ewen as CFO, reporting to GPS Group Chief Executive Ian Prescott. Based at GPS’ group headquarters in Dubai, UAE, Ewen, a chartered accountant, will be responsible for the financial management of the group’s entire operations across all locations in the Middle East and South East Asia. These include engineering centers in Dubai, Malaysia and Singapore, and fabrication facilities in Abu Dhabi and Batam, Indonesia.
