Didier Hornet has been named deputy managing director of V&M Tubes’ new North America OCTG division. He will also serve as chairman of the board of V&M STAR, the steel manufacturing arm of V&M Tubes’ North America OCTG division, which has plants in both Houston and Youngstown, Ohio. Hornet joined the Vallourec Group in 1993 at the corporate OCTG Division in Paris. Additionally, Roger Lindgren was named CEO of V&M STAR. Lindgren will oversee operations of V&M STAR’s plants in both Houston and Youngstown. Previously, he was president and COO of V&M STAR. 

Ken Arnold, senior executive VP of AMEC Paragon and founder and former CEO of Paragon Engineering Services, was elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE), one of the highest distinctions accorded an engineer. Arnold was recognized for more than 40 years of experience in facilities engineering design and project management, and his contributions to the safety, design and standardization of hydrocarbon production.

Oilfield corrosion specialist Duoline Technologies has appointed Jerry Burleson to product engineering manager. Burleson has over 17 years of experience with Huntsman Chemical. He started his career as a process engineer, moving into process/ product development engineering and corporate product services.

Pride International, Inc., elected Louis A. Raspino as president and CEO, and as a director of the company. Raspino has been executive VP and CFO since joining Pride in December 2003. Also, the company announced the election of David A. B. Brown as chairman of the board. Brown became a director of Pride in September 2001, when the company acquired Marine Drilling Companies, where he had been a director since 1995. Brown had been president of The Windsor Group, Inc., since 1984.

Mark Western, chairman and CEO of Tekoil & Gas Corp., was appointed chairman and CEO of PEXCON, Inc., following the acquisition of that company by Tekoil. As part of the acquisition, PEXCON, Inc. will change its name to Tekoil & Gas Corp./ PEXCON, Inc. Also, Frank Clear has been appointed director, president and COO, and Gerald Goodman was named director and CFO. Eric Ottens was appointed executive VP.

AnTech Ltd appointed Aziz Rashid to the position of engineering manager. Rashid has over 22 years of experience in the electronics and defense industries. In 2003, he co-founded Photonic Technology and Management Ltd, where he served as director of engineering until 2004, when he joined BAE Systems as engineering manager.

Stabil Drill promoted Mike Domino Houston to district manager, overseeing a staff of 25 people. He has been a Stabil Drill sales representative in Houston since 2000. Domino is a member of SPE, AADE, API and IADC.

CRP, an international provider of specialist engineering materials, appointed Mike Aitkenhead as president of its Houston-based US operation, CRP Balmoral Inc. He has almost 30 years of experience in the offshore industry. Aitkenhead, formerly CRP Balmoral’s VP of Sales and Marketing, replaced Alan Burgess, who had been acting president for five months and has resumed his role as managing director of CRP in the UK.

GlobalSantaFe Corp. appointed W. Matt Ralls as executive VP and COO, and promoted Michael R. Dawson to senior VP and CFO, and Robert L. Herrin, Jr., to VP and controller. Ralls most recently served as senior VP and CFO of GlobalSantaFe. He joined Global Marine, Inc., in 1997. Dawson has served as VP and controller of GlobalSantaFe since 2003. Herrin joined the company’s internal audit staff in 1989. 

Premium Drilling has named Robert W. Rose CEO. He has more than 25 years of experience in the offshore drilling industry and was most recently vice president, Worldwide Operations, at Noble Corporation. Premium Drilling is a drilling contractor jointly owned by Awilco Offshore ASA and Sinvest ASA. The firm will operate a fleet of eight ultra-premium jackup drilling units, presently under construction in Singapore. Five units will be delivered and enter the market during 2006. 

International oil and gas facilities service provider, Petrofac, has appointed Rodney Chase as chairman with immediate effect. Chase, 62, spent 38 years at BP plc, of which 11 were served on the board. He was deputy group chief executive on his retirement from the group in May 2003, having held the position since 1999. He also spent time as CEO of the Exploration & Production and Marketing & Refining divisions. 

Marvin Odum has been named executive VP of the Americas for Shell Exploration and Production. Odum will lead E&P activities in the Americas, including current areas of activity in the Gulf of Mexico, onshore North America, Brazil and Venezuela. Odum succeeds Raoul Restucci, who was named executive VP of Shell’s E&P business in the Middle East, Russia and CIS. Odum was most recently CEO of InterGen, a joint venture between Shell and Bechtel. He joined Shell as an engineer in 1982, and has held a variety of management positions.
