Oilfield Energy Center May 14, 2021

After 21 years of exemplary service as Executive Director of the Oilfield Energy Center, Sandra Mourton is setting her sights on a well-deserved retirement, effective June 30, 2021.

Sandra began her oil and gas career in 1975, working for RETSCO Ltd in England, UK. In 1980, she was transferred to Houston, where she continued selling offshore equipment.  Sandra was named Executive Director of the Oilfield Energy Center in 2000 and helped grow and sustain the organization through many energy industry highs and lows. She is loved and respected by an extensive network of industry leaders and friends worldwide, and will remain a strong supporter and advocate for OEC in her retirement.

Throughout the past two decades, Oilfield Energy Center employees benefitted from Sandra’s leadership and passion for the Ocean Star Offshore Drilling Rig Museum and Education Center, at the harbor in Galveston, Texas.  Tens of thousands of students, teachers, industry tours, youth groups, and families have experienced the oil and energy industry firsthand through the Ocean Star.

The OEC will miss Sandra and will never forget her contributions. Please join us in wishing Sandra all the best in her retirement. She will be spending more time with family in the United States and England.

There will be much more to come for celebrating and commemorating Sandra’s legacy to OEC.
