Gulf Energy Information, World Oil partner with PBWMC to host day two of ShaleTech

June 28, 2018

HOUSTON -- Gulf Energy Information, the media and market intelligence company that produces World Oil and its associated events, is pleased to announce the addition of a special water management segment at ShaleTech 2018. This one-day water event, hosted by the Permian Basin Water Management Council (PBWMC), will be held on the second day of ShaleTech 2018 (Dec. 6, 2018) at the Norris Conference Center in Houston, Texas.

Since the early 2000s, ShaleTech has highlighted the technology, economics and regulatory aspects relating to shale development. As shale plays continue to be the prime driver behind the U.S. helping shape the world’s energy markets, one of the major themes will be the management of what is fast becoming a valuable commodity—water.

Andy McDowell, V.P. of Gulf Energy Information and Publisher of World Oil said, “ShaleTech will continue our mission of hosting the most technical conference focused on shale technology in North America.  Day one of the 2018 event will continue to focus on technology related to E&P; specifically, drilling efficiencies, hydraulic fracturing and completion optimization.  To address the growing interest in water, we saw a need to bring in a strategic partner to best address those technical issues.  We are pleased to work with the PBWMC to host day two of the event.  As more and more focus on shale turns to produced water and water management, ShaleTech is the perfect platform to host those high-level discussions.”

Doug Park, Chairman of the Permian Basin Water Management Council, said, “The PBWMC is privileged to team with World Oil and their ShaleTech Conference to host day two and focus on water management. This conference provides us the platform to develop relevant and important topics to discuss, that are at the forefront of water management in oil and gas.”

A new advisory board is being assembled to finalize all topics and speakers for day two of ShaleTech.  The conference’s water management segment will highlight many of the issues facing upstream and midstream companies – including water sourcing, transportation, recycling and disposal - during the shale development process.  A final agenda for the entire event will be announced on Aug. 1, 2018.
