EIC launches UK energy initiative for survival of challenging market conditions

February 15, 2017

LONDON -- The Energy Industries Council (EIC), a trade association for UK companies that supply goods and services to the energy industries worldwide, officially launches its UK Energy Supply Chain: How to survive and thrive initiative today.

EIC CEO Stuart Broadley will visit 30 EIC member organizations, which represent the full range of energy sectors and companies of all sizes, to discuss what strategies they have put into place to not only survive but, in fact, thrive during the current challenging market conditions.

The meetings will focus on six key areas which the EIC has identified as being vital to ensure growth during these tough times: optimization of costs and processes, innovation, technology, collaboration, diversification and export.

The inspirational stories told by the EIC member companies will then be published as a special EIC report which will highlight the best practices which leading energy companies are undertaking to prosper even during the market downturn.

The report will be available free of charge to all EIC member companies and will also be submitted to the Department for International Trade and the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy to feed into the government’s industrial energy strategy.

Commenting on the new initiative EIC CEO Stuart Broadley said, "I can’t wait to meet our member companies around the UK and find out more about the incredible work they’re doing to prosper and grow in spite of, and increasingly because of, these challenging markets.

"They are successfully adopting strategies enabling them to flourish, including the use of innovation and technology to drive down project costs, as well as collaboration, diversification and, of course, an increasing focus on exporting.

"The report that we will produce will not only act as a template and source of motivation for our other member companies, but also by feeding into the government’s industrial energy strategy will help the whole of the UK energy industry to thrive."
