Russia and Qatar partner for Yamal deal
Russia and Qatar have agreed to work together to develop gas reserves in Russia's Yamal peninsula. The announcement came in a joint communique issued today ahead of a meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum at the sidelines of the LNG16 conference in Oran, Algeria.
"The parties reached agreenent to further develop their co-operation ...including through joint implementation of the integrated project to develop the gas reserves of the Yamal peninsula," they said.
No further details were immediately available.
