Melody Meyer has been elected as a non-executive director on the board of BP.

Melody Meyer has been elected as a non-executive director on the board of BP. After spending 37 years with Chevron, Meyer brings extensive oil and gas experience to her new position. Most recently, she served as president of Chevron Asia-Pacific E&P, where she managed the company’s financial and operating performance for upstream assets in the region. She retired in 2016.

The Energy Industries Council (EIC) has appointed Andrew Cuniah,manager of procurement operations at Bechtel, to its board of directors. Cuniah brings more than 30 years of industry experience to his position, 20 of which have been with Bechtel. He is based in London, where he manages the company’s regional supply chain activities.

Ramco, an OCTG specialist, has hired Jason Hughes to lead its Australian business. As general manager, Hughes will develop the company’s comprehensive total tubular management plans in Australia. He brings more than 25 years of industry experience to his new role—specifically in technical, project management, business development and general management roles. Most recently, he worked for EnerMech and GE Oil & Gas in Perth.

Doug Polk, V.P. of industry affairs and communications at Vallourec, has been awarded the Steel Manufacturers Association (SMA) James Collins Award, recognizing his advocating efforts for policy changes that serve the domestic steel and pipe industry. At Vallourec, Polk manages trade policies, business development, trade organization oversight, government relations and North American communications for the company. Additionally, he serves on a number of industry, trade association and civic boards.

Alpha Petroleum Resources has named Charles Proctor as CFO. Proctor brings more than 28 years of international energy industry experience to his new position. His career began with a series of commercial and financial positions at BP. Subsequently, he became CFO for BP’s E&P businesses in Angola and Azerbaijan. Later, he became regional president for BP Middle East. In 2012, Proctor joined Genel Energy as head of commercial, and regional president for Africa. Proctor’s appointment comes as the company continues to make progress in its development of Cheviot field, one of the largest undeveloped fields in the UK North Sea.

William P. Faubel has been appointed senior V.P. of business development and sales at Borets U.S., in Houston. Faubel will oversee the company’s business development initiatives, expanding its global client base. He brings an abundance of industry experience to his new role, as he has held a number of senior executive positions prior to this appointment. According to Borets, Faubel brings key strengths in business and relationship management, strategic planning and execution, as well as global business development.

Marathon Petroleum Corp. (MPC) has made several changes to its executive management team. Donald C. Templin, MPLX president, has been appointed president of MPC. In 2011, Templin joined MPC as senior V.P. and CFO. Subsequently, he was named executive V.P. of supply, transportation and marketing. Mike Hennigan will succeed Templin as president of MPLX’s general partner. He brings more than 35 years of industry experience to his new role, most recently as president and CEO of Sunoco Logistics Partners.

According to the Massachusetts Petroleum Council (MPC), David O’Donnell has been appointed as the new associate director for API’s division in Massachusetts. In his new role, O’Donnell will promote economic and job growth throughout New England. Additionally, he will help promote energy efficiency and infrastructure investments in the region.

Wood Group has named Dean Harwood as president of strategy and development for the Western region. He will oversee everything from strategy, mergers and acquisitions, to business development, marketing and proposals. Harwood brings nearly 30 years of industry experience in finance, strategy, operations and executive leadership. Prior to joining Wood Group, he served as executive V.P. of operations at Parsons Corp., and president at Parsons Enterprises, an engineering, construction and management firm.

Jon Erik Reinhardsen has been elected as the new chair of Statoil’s board of directors. Reinhardsen has served as Petroleum Geo-Services’ CEO since 2008. He will leave his role as CEO at the end of August, and subsequently will serve as Statoil’s new chair of the board, as of Sept. 1, and until the election of shareholder-elected members to the board of directors in 2018. In addition to Reinhardsen’s election, Statoil has re-elected Roy Franklin, Wenche Agerup, Bjørn Tore Godal, Rebekka Glasser Herlofsen, Maria Johanna Oudeman and Jeroen van der Veer. Furthermore, the corporate assembly re-elected Ingrid Di Valerio and Stig Lægreid as employee-elected members of Statoil’s board of directors. Per Martin Labråthen was elected as a new employee-elected member. Hans Einar Haldorsen, Per Steinar Stamnes and Jorunn Birkeland are employee-elected deputy members.

Don Briggs has been named LAGCOE Looey 2017. As a founding member and president of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association (LOGA), Briggs has devoted much of his life to the oil and gas industry. He first launched LOGA in 1992, and it has since grown into an association of more than 1,300 members, representing the independent exploration, production and servicing sectors of Louisiana’s oil and gas sector. Briggs will be honored as the 36th LAGCOE Looey at a luncheon in August, which will kick off LAGCOE 2017, to be held Oct. 24–26, in Lafayette, La.

Swire Oilfield Services has named a successor for John Bruce Rae-Smith, who announced that he would be stepping down as CEO. Manfred Vonlanthen will take over as CEO. He joined the company in 2014 as general manager for the Norwegian division, before advancing to director of the North Sea business. He brings considerable technical and commercial experience to his new role.

Tendeka has appointed two new members to its board of directors. Jim Nixon has joined as chairman and non-executive director. Presently, he serves as CEO and chairman of Nixon Energy Investments. He brings a wealth of engineering, technological and entreprendeurial skills to his new role. Tendeka also has named Bill Wright as vice chairman and non-executive director. He brings almost 40 years of industry experience, including 35 years at Schlumberger, to his new position.
