In addition to giving the keynote speech, World Oil’s Editor and Chief Forecaster, Kurt Abraham, was honored at the 24th Annual Energy Policy Conference (IEPC) Roundtable Summit in Tulsa, Okla., hosted by Energy Advocates and the University of Tulsa. At the dinner following the roundtable summit on Aug. 11, the Energy Advocates Journalist of the Year award was presented to Abraham for his dedication to the reporting of the latest energy news and trends. In addition, Richard B. Williamson, chairman of the board of T. D. Williamson, Inc., was recognized as the Lifetime Achievement Energy Advocate of the Year award recipient. The awards were presented by Mark Stansberry, board chairman of Energy Advocates.

Robin Fielder has been named V.P., Investor Relations, at Anadarko Petroleum Corp. Effective Nov. 1, Fielder will lead the company’s Investor Relations organization. Since 2002, she has held various positions within the company, including general manager of East Texas and North Louisiana, and worldwide operations business advisor. With nearly 15 years of industry experience, she has served in a variety of exploration and operations engineering positions, in both the U.S. onshore and the Gulf of Mexico.

T. Mitch Little has been promoted to executive V.P. of operations at Marathon Oil Corp. He will oversee the company’s resource play and conventional businesses. Little will move from his current position as V.P., Conventional. He joined the company in 1986, and has since held various positions, including managing director of Marathon Oil Norge AS and general manager, Worldwide Drilling and Completions. In addition, Cathy Krajicek will move from her position as V.P. of technology and innovation, to V.P., Conventional. Bruce McCullough will take over as V.P. of technology and innovation. Furthermore, Pat Wagner has been named interim CFO. Presently serving as the company’s V.P. of corporate development and strategy, Wagner will also take on the role of CFO while the company conducts its search for a new CFO.

Chevron Corp. has elected Dr. Dambisa Moyo and Dr. Wanda Austin to its board of directors. Effective Oct. 11, Dr. Moyo will serve on the company’s audit committee. She is an economist, as well as the founder and CEO of Mildstorm LLC. Dr. Austin will serve on Chevron’s board nominating and governance committee, as well as its public policy committee, effective Dec. 1. She has served as president and CEO of The Aerospace Corp. since 2008, and holds an adjunct research professor appointment in the University of Southern California’s Viterbi School of Engineering. Prior to that, she was part of Rockwell International’s technical staff.

Crestone Peak Resources has named a new CEO. Tony Buchanon joined the company as CEO and board member, effective Aug. 8. Having served previously as executive V.P. and COO at Bonanza Creek Energy, Buchanon has extensive experience in the development of the DJ basin. He also served previously as production operations manager for Noble Energy. He brings more than 34 years of industry experience to his new position. Buchanon has held positions with companies including Rosetta Resources, Trend Exploration Co., Burlington Resources and Mobil E&P.

Alastair Cochran has been appointed as CFO and executive director at Petrofac. He joins the company from BG Group, where he most recently served as transition head of BG Global Strategy & Business Development, managing the company’s integration following the acquisition by Royal Dutch Shell. He also had served previously as head of M&A and corporate finance.

Aqualis Offshore has appointed Ben Lazenby as director of the company’s Middle East operations. Lazenby will succeed Reuben Segal, who will now concentrate on his role as COO. A master mariner, Lazenby brings 25 years of offshore industry experience to his new role. Prior to his appointment, Lazenby most recently served as the company’s regional marine director. Based in Dubai, he will now oversee operations of the company’s other offices in the region, as well. This includes offices in Abu Dhabi, UAE; Manama, Bahrain; Doha, Qatar; and Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

John H. Pinkerton has been appointed as Lonestar Resources’ chairman of the board. Pinkerton, who has served as a director of the company since March 2015, has experience in the management, acquisition and divestiture of oil and gas properties. Previously, Pinkerton held a variety of positions at Range Resources, including president, CEO, chairman and director. During his 27-year tenure, Pinkerton is credited with transforming Range Resources into a multi-billion-dollar enterprise.

J. T. Wilson, president and CEO of Magellan Petroleum Corp., has formally resigned. Effective Aug. 5, Antoine J. Lafargue assumed the role of president and CEO. Lafargue had served as the company’s senior V.P. of strategy and business development, as well as chief commercial officer since October 2014. He also has held other various positions within the company, including V.P., CFO and treasurer.

As part of a company reorganization, Aker Solutions has established a new executive management team. Dean Watson, who joins the company from Schlumberger, has been named COO. Hired internally, other appointed team members include Valborg Lundegaard, who will move from head of engineering to customer management center lead; Egil Boyum, who will move from head of the subsea business in Europe and Africa, to products center lead; Knut Sandvik, who will move from head of maintenance, modifications and operations, to projects center lead; and David Clark, who will go from regional head for Europe and Africa, to services center lead.

Following the resignation of Petrolia’s CEO, Alexandre Gagnon, the company has named board member Martin Bélanger as interim CEO. Over the last 24 years, Bélanger has worked with a number of companies, including Talisman Energy, PrimeWest Energy, TAQA NORTH, Laricina Energy and TransCanada Pipelines.
