David A. Miller has been promoted to president of J-W Energy Company, and Richard T. Clement has accepted the additional responsibilities of President of J-W Midstream Company. Miller has provided legal representation for J-W Energy, and its subsidiaries, since 1976.

Dieter Watelle has been appointed to the newly-created position of design engineer for Deep Blue Engineering.  Watelle’s initial responsibility will be to develop the propulsion systems for the Shuttle Sub, a large payload-carrying ROV. 

Enhanced Oil Resources has appointed Andrew Hromyk as CEO. Hromyk joined the company’s board of directors in mid-November 2014. Hromyk had been president of Century Capital Management, an investment management and advisory firm in Vancouver.

Royal Dutch Shell’s Nigerian company, SPDC, has appointed Osagie Okunbur as new managing director, replacing Mutiu Sunmonu, according to the company’s media relations. Okunbor has also been named the country chair of Shell Companies in Nigeria. Sunmonu is retiring after 36 years of service.

Knut Haga has been appointed CTO of Cubility. Haga has spent 25 years the industry, holding several positions at other services companies, including operations manager at Hitec, managing director at Axon Norway, and V.P. of projects at National Oilwell Norway.

The board of directors at Polarcus has chosen Rod Starr to succeed Rolf Ronningen as CEO. Ronningen, will continue as CEO until early first-quarter 2015. Starr joins Polarcus from TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company, and has over 30 years of industry experience. Starr began his career with Unocal, and spent 16 years in various planning and financial roles before moving into the oil services sector.

Ben Bordelon will take on the duties of chairman, president and CEO of Bollinger Shipyards. Bordelon, along with the Chouest family, has acquired all assets and stock of Bollinger Shipyards. Bordelon has served in many capacities during his career at Bollinger, and has been a member of the board of directors since 2002. He has served as executive V.P. of repair, and most recently, as COO of Bollinger Shipyards.

Tesla Offshore has announced that Randall P. Bergeron will retire as president, and will assume the role of executive director. C. D. Schempf, Jr., Tesla’s senior V.P. of sales and marketing, will succeed Bergeron as president. Schempf is a 19-year veteran of the offshore survey service industry, and, with Bergeron and three other individuals, helped to establish Tesla Offshore in 2004.

Statoil’s board of directors has appointed Eldar Saetre as president and CEO. Saetre has been in that role since October, and has 35 years in the oil and gas industry.

Bruce H. Vincent will retire as president of Swift Energy, effective Feb. 15, 2015. Vincent, who also will resign as a board member, has served as president of Swift Energy since November 2004. He also has been a Swift Energy director since May 2005, having first joined the company in 1990. Vincent was chairman of IPAA from 2009 to 2011. Upon Vincent’s retirement, CEO Terry Swift will assume the role of president.

Dr. James Mataragio has been appointed to the post of director general of the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation. Prior to this appointment, Dr. Mataragio had been at Bell Geospace since 2004. During that time, Dr. Mataragio has worked with a number of major international oil and gas firms, including Petrobras, BP, Anadarko, Ecopetrol and Petronas.

American Energy Partners, LP, has named Jeffrey A. Fisher to CEO. Fisher served as COO since joining the company in November 2013. Prior to AELP, Fisher was executive V.P. of Chesapeake Energy’s production, responsible for upstream operations and integrated field development.

Seadrill has appointed Dr. Charles Woodburn as a company director. Dr. Woodburn has been the CEO of Expro Group since 2010, and had previously spent 15 years with Schlumberger, holding senior management roles, including president of wireline, and head of the engineering and manufacturing group. 

G. Steven Farris has retired from his post as chairman, president and CEO of Apache Corporation. Farris will continue as non-executive chairman of the board until May 1, 2015. John J. Christmann, IV, Apache’s executive V.P. and COO of North America, has succeeded Farris as president and CEO.

Greene’s Energy Group has promoted Tracy Cummins to V.P. of key account management. Cummins has 30 years of experience in the energy industry, and joined Greene’s in 2013, as director of business development for well testing and wellhead services.  Prior to Greene’s, Cummins was with Weatherford for more than 16 years.

Harry New has rejoined Willbros Group as president of its oil and gas segment, where he will have operating responsibility for the company’s portfolio of oil and gas construction services in the U.S. New was previously with Willbros from 2005-2011.

Andrew Nunn has been appointed COO of Cluff Natural Resources. Nunn joined Cluff in May 2014 as senior project manager. Prior to Cluff, Nunn was exploration manager at Dart Energy, where he was responsible for planning, and executing, the company’s unconventional oil and gas assets in Europe. Nunn is a chartered geologist.

Joseph C. Dilg has joined investment bank Greenhill & Co., Inc., as vice chairman.  Through the end of 2014, Dilg was with law firm Vinson & Elkins, where he practiced for 38 years, and led the firm as managing partner from 2002 through 2011, with energy as a key focus.

Flotek has appointed Stephen A. Marinello, Ph. D., to director of CnF Applied Technology. In his role, Dr. Marinello brings over two decades of reservoir engineering and completion experience, and will assist in the development of new CnF markets and new applications of CnF around the globe.

Lawrence Sanford, TAM International’s founder, passed away after a long-term illness at the age of 90. Sanford purchased TAM Products in 1972, and revolutionized the company. Sanford’s vision led to rebranding the company as TAM International, Inc., in 1973, to expand its market presence, and capitalize on global opportunities. He was a larger-than-life personality, always poised to ask a question, challenging employees, friends and family to think a little harder.
