Michel Laine has been appointed COO of Samsung Engineering’s newly established offshore segment. Laine began his career in offshore in 1982 with ETPM, followed by Technip and Bouygues Offshore, which was later acquired by Saipem. Since 2002, he has held key management positions as the managing director of Saipem Indonesia and Saipem Singapore, and as chairman and CEO of Saipem France.


Knowledge Reservoir has appointed Dan Gualtieri to the position of V.P., Production Solutions. Gualtieri will lead Knowledge Reservoir in all aspects of its Drilling and Production Solutions service delivery, including projects spanning deep water, unconventional resources, production enhancement, EOR, flow assurance, and pipeline and production systems engineering. He comes from Baker Hughes, where he held the position of director, Integrated Services.


Christopher H. Carter has been appointed CEO of PIDX, where he will be responsible for managing the company’s day-to-day operations, and overseeing continued development. Throughout his 18-year career, Carter has held IT leadership positions in companies in the oil and gas and telecommunications industries, as well as various strategic and change management positions. In addition to leading the global IT organizations for RigNet, Inc. and CapRock Communications, he served as Director of E-Commerce for National Oilwell Varco.


Griffin Americas has appointed Judy “J.P.” Peplinski as CEO. Peplinski will fill this position for all of North and South American operations for Griffin Global Group. Before joining Griffin, she held the position of V.P. at CWT Energy Services & MOTLI. Her previous experience, encompassing more than 30 years, includes various leadership roles, spanning global responsibility and oversight for their Marine & Oilfield Travel Logistics division, global strategy, safety and security, business development, operations and customer services.


Aquatic Engineering & Construction Ltd, an Acteon company, has hired Martyn Conroy as business development manager, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Conroy’s responsibilities in his new role will include leading sales and business development across the broader EMEA region. Conroy has extensive experience in international business development, including management positions with Ashtead Technology, RGB Ltd and Hydratight Ltd.


Matt Yacavone has joined Crowley Maritime Corp. as V.P. of sales and chartering for Crowley’s petroleum services team. Yacavone will be responsible for the planning and direction of sales and chartering initiatives, overseeing development of policies and procedures, coordinating and negotiating customer contracts, and developing business relations, particularly in the company’s articulated-tug, barge and tanker programs.


HB Rentals, a Superior Energy Services company, has promoted Glenn Aguilar to senior V.P. of Global Operations. Under his leadership, business units have been established representing major operating regions around the world, with its own sales and operations management team reporting into Aguilar.


Apache announced that Thomas E. Voytovich will assume the newly created position of executive V.P. of international operations, with responsibility for all of Apache’s regional activities outside the U.S. Lower 48, excluding the Kitimat gas monetization project. Thomas M. Maher, currently V.P. and managing director of Apache’s operations in Australia, will assume the role of V.P. and general manager of Apache’s Egypt operations. Faron J. Thibodeaux has been promoted to V.P. and managing director in Australia. Timothy O. Wall will lead the initiative as president of Kitimat Upstream Operations. Robert Spitzer will join the Kitimat Upstream Operations team as executive V.P. of development. Janine J. McArdle will continue as senior V.P. of gas monetization and president of Kitimat LNG. Timothy J. Sullivan has been promoted to regional V.P. and president of Apache Canada Limited.


TWMA has appointed Leif Ove Svensen as Scandinavia regional manager. He has more than 22 years’ experience in the upstream sector, and previously held senior management positions within a number of Norwegian service companies.


UniversalPegasus International has named Terry Mienie as business development director, UK and international. Mienie joins the company’s Aberdeen office from Penspen, where he served as business development and manpower manager, Offshore. He will be responsible for developoing the company’s subsea market in the UK, with a focus on the North Sea.


EPC Offshore has appointed Jonathan White as the new head of business development to expand the firm’s customer base across the North Sea and internationally. During a career spanning almost 20 years, White has worked throughout the UK, Norway, Nigeria and the Former Soviet Union, rising from the role of drilling fluids engineer to senior management. He joins EPC Offshore from Aker Solutions, where he was V.P. of business development.


Kline & Company has promoted Geeta Agashe to senior V.P. of Petroleum & Energy on Kline’s Management Consulting Team. Agashe has delivered research papers worldwide and is a frequent contributor to, and expert commentator for, industry publications around the world. Agashe has been with Kline since 1996, and her expertise includes strategy/market development, technology and economic feasibility analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and other analyses in the global basestocks, finished lubricants, lubricant and fuel additives, waxes and other related petroleum specialty markets.


Greene’s Energy Group (GEG) has named Brad Farnsworth as CFO. Based in Houston, Farnsworth will report to the CEO and assume a strategic role in overall company management. He will take on the daily role of planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. GEG also announced the promotion of Maury Dumba to senior V.P. of business development. Dumba, who is based in Houston, previously served as the company’s V.P. of business development. In his new position, Dumba will maintain these duties and will also provide oversight for organic growth initiatives.


RigNet, Inc. has appointed James R. Crenshaw to the position of V.P. and general manager - Western Hemisphere. With over 30 years of progressive experience in the oilfield services industry, Crenshaw’s primary responsibilities will be to manage RigNet’s existing businesses in North and South America, and serve as a key contributing member of the company’s executive team, responsible for overall strategy and direction. Within the hemisphere, he will also be charged with leading RigNet into new countries, and oil and gas vertical markets, consistent with the company’s global growth strategy. Serving most recently as regional engineering manager, North America, for Weatherford Secure Drilling Services, Crenshaw has had a long and successful oilfield services career at Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Expro and Weatherford.
