Cameron International Corp. has signed a $600-million subsea equipment deal with Brazil's Petrobras. The contract calls for the supply of 47 subsea trees and associated equipment, Houston-based Cameron said in a statement. The deliveries for the equipment, destined for pre-salt and post-salt areas offshore Brazil, will begin in 2014.


Seadrill has exercised fixed price options for the construction of two high-specification jackup drilling rigs at Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore in China. The rigs are scheduled for delivery during third-quarter and fourth-quarter 2015, and the estimated total project price is $230 million per rig, with tail-heavy payment terms.


 General Electric has agreed to acquire Texas-based Lufkin Industries, a specialist in lift equipment for oil and gas platforms, for about $3.3 billion. The move by GE’s oil and gas unit, the company’s fastest-growing business, expands its artificail-lift capabilities to a greater variety
of well types. Lufkin employs about 4,500 people in over
40 countries.


 Energy consulting and testing & certification company DNV KEMA has opened a new Multiphase Flow Laboratory (MPFL) in Groningen, the Netherlands. The facility will allow equipment manufacturers and oil and gas companies to test, validate and calibrate multiphase technologies—e.g. separators and flow meters—for the production
of oil and gas, and the measurement and trading of gas.


 Expro has been awarded a $4.5-million, one-year contract for the supply of 73/8 -in. completion landing string services in China. As part of the contract, Expro will supply a 73/8 -in., 10k direct hydraulic (DH) completion landing string system, and a set of topside and DH controls.


 HB Rentals Dubai, a Superior Energy Services company, secured contracts to supply 12 A60-DNV-approved, eight-man linkable sleeper units onboard two Lloyd’s-class liftboats in Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia, and four linkable A60-DNV 2.7-1-approved modules for a barge installing cables offshore Saudi Arabia. The temporary buildings were stacked two levels high for each package, and HB Rentals provided the stairways and walkways. All modules and equipment were supplied from HB Rentals’ United Arab Emirates (UAE) base in Sharjah, and HB technicians were used for installment.


 Shell U.K. Ltd. has awarded Ocean Installer a contract for umbilical installation at Bittern field in the UK North Sea. The scope of the work is to install two new static umbilicals of 20.7 km and 1.8 km. This includes pre-lay engineering; surveying and confirmation of all routes and subsea work; monitoring and testing of umbilicals during transportation and installation; umbilical installation, including building of crossings and installation of protection mattresses; burial of umbilicals; and post-installation testing.


 LLOG Exploration Company has awarded 2H Offshore Inc., an Acteon company, a Steel Catenary Riser (SCR) detailed design project. The SCRs will be the first attached to the Exmar OPTI-11000 semisubmersible. The scope of work includes the provision of a detailed design of production and export SCRs, tied back to the Exmar OPTI-11000 semisubmersible for the Delta House field development. LLOG is developing Marmalard and SOB2 fields in the Mississippi Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico. Both of these will be tied back to the Delta House Floating Production Facility in MC Block 254, in 4,500 ft of water.


 Statoil has signed agreements with MAN Diesel & Turbo Switzerland for the supply of new turbomachinery equipment and maintenance services. The duration was set for five years, with options to prolong the contracts. Zurich-based MAN Diesel & Turbo Schweiz AG and Statoil have followed a joint subsea compressor qualification program since 2005. In early 2011, Aker Solutions, Statoil’s main contractor for the Asgard subsea project, awarded a contract to MAN to build the world's first subsea compressors for gas production on the seafloor.


 BOURBON has taken delivery of the Bourbon Evolution 803, the third vessel in the first large IMR series for the offshore industry. This series of vessels is designed to operate in complete safety at depths of 3,000 m. The first two sister ships already operate in West Africa.


 ExxonMobil Canada has released the option for Kvaerner to provide the full scope of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for the Hebron project’s gravity-based structure. The contract value for Kvaerner's share of the full EPC contract is approximately $1.5 billion and includes work conducted to date on the Hebron project.


 ABB has been chosen to supply process analyzers, system integration and related services for Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG export facility in Cameron Parish, La. Located 4 mi from the Gulf Coast in southwestern Louisiana, the new export facility is being built by EPC contractor Bechtel as an expansion of Cheniere’s existing Sabine Pass natural gas storage and import terminal. When completed, it will accommodate up to four LNG trains capable of processing approximately 2 Bcfd of gas liquefaction for transport and potential export. The initial project under construction includes two trains with a liquefaction capacity of 1 Bcfd.


 Wood Group PSN is delivering operations and maintenance services to Chevron's offshore production facilities under a new $17.5-million contract. Wood Group PSN will provide services to Chevron's two offshore platforms (Chuchupa A and B), in the Chuchupa natural gas fields, Caribbean Sea, and two onshore natural gas fields (Riohacha and Ballenas) in the province of La Guajira, northern Colombia. The award marks WGPSN's first offshore services contract in Colombia.


 Strategy Engineering & Consulting has been awarded a contract by Chesapeake Energy for the design of a Central Production Facility (CPF) in the Eagle Ford shale. Strategy’s scope includes project management, engineering, design, construction management, commissioning and start-up of the San Pedro CPF. The sweet oil production facility is being designed for 30,000 bopd and is expected to start up in Q3 of 2013.


 Greene’s Energy Group (GEG) has opened two new facilities in Alice and Pleasanton, Texas. These facilities serve Central and South Texas, with emphasis on the Eagle Ford shale, and are outfitted with warehouse and office amenities.


 Halliburton opened its newly constructed Completion Technology and Manufacturing Center in Singapore. The new facility is located on roughly 43 acres in Jurong Industrial Park and includes more than 500,000 sq ft of manufacturing and administrative space. The facility includes technology laboratories and test facilities, which house complex processes such as high-alloy material precision machining, electrode discharge machines, small deep-hole gun drilling and fully automated high-pressure testing.
