John Wright, founder and former President of John Wright Company (JWC), accepted the position of Senior VP of Technology for Boots & Coots. The technology acquired with the purchase of JWC includes proprietary processes, software and expertise to manage well-control risks in a systematic way.

Accommodations specialist HB Rentals, a Superior Energy Services company, has named James McNeilly VP of Land Operations. With over 30 years of experience in the oilfield services industry with Baker Hughes-Baker Atlas, McNeilly has served in operations management roles for both offshore and onshore markets related to drilling, workovers and completions.

FMC Technologies Inc. announced the appointment of Alf T. Melin to the position of Treasurer. Most recently, he was the Subsea Controller for the Eastern Region, located in Kongsberg, Norway. Melin will be based in Houston. Also, Jay A. Nutt has been appointed VP. He assumed his current responsibilities as Controller in August 2008.

InterMoor Inc., an Acteon company, named Randy Giroir as Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator for the company’s Port Fourchon, Louisiana, facility. Prior to joining InterMoor, Giroir was the HSE Adviser for Oceaneering International’s diving division, which consists of more than 300 employees.

Pride International Inc. announced that Imran (Ron) Toufeeq, currently Senior VP, Asset Management and Engineering, has been appointed Senior VP, Operations, Asset Management and Engineering. Toufeeq has over 30 years of experience in international drilling and management. Gregory Looser, currently Senior VP, Legal, Information Strategy and General Counsel, has been appointed to the new role of Senior VP and Chief Administrative Officer. He joined Pride in 1999. Brady K. Long, currently VP, Deputy General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Secretary, was appointed VP, General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Secretary.

Dr. Richard G. Newell has been named Administrator of the Energy Information Administration, the US government source of energy data, analysis and forecasting. Newell is on leave from his position as the Gendell Associate Professor of Energy and Environmental Economics at the Nicholas School of the Environment, Duke University.

Parker Drilling announced the appointments of Jon-Al Duplantier as VP and General Counsel, and Philip Schlom as Principal Accounting Officer and Corporate Controller. Duplantier joins Parker Drilling from ConocoPhillips, where he served in several legal and executive roles from 1995 to 2009.

Bristow Group Inc., a provider of helicopter services to the offshore energy industry, announced that Elizabeth D. Brumley has been promoted to the position of CFO. She was appointed Acting CFO in April of this year. Before joining the company in November 2005, Brumley was the VP and Controller of Noble Drilling Services Inc.

Jackup Structures Alliance, Inc., announced that Robert William Fogal, Jr., VP of Business Development, has been appointed as  an Independent Non-Executive Director of TSC Offshore Group Ltd. for a term of three years. Fogal has over 50 years of experience in offshore rig construction.

Proserv Offshore announced that James Cox has joined the company as Regional Sales Manager, and Rene Bergeron as Estimating Proposal Manager. Cox has more than 25 years of experience in the oilfield services industry, most recently as Senior Account Manager for Tetra Technologies. Before joining Proserv Offshore, Bergeron was General Manager of Rooster Well Intervention for Chet Morrison Well Services. He has more than 35 years of industry experience.

Global Tubing announced the appointment of Pete Sinner as Manager, North American Sales. He has 30 years of experience in new technology and product development, including 12 years as a coiled tubing expert for Quality Tubing.

Knight Oil Tools announced that Gary Davis has been selected to broaden its business development efforts on a global scale. He has more than 25 years of experience in the rental tool industry, with a focus on fishing tools. Davis previously served as an International Sales Manager.

Transocean Ltd. named Ihab Toma as Senior VP of Marketing and Planning. Based in Geneva, he will be responsible for marketing and planning for the company’s fleet of 133 mobile offshore drilling units worldwide. He will also oversee Transocean Solutions and two company subsidiaries, Applied Drilling Technology Inc. and Challenger Minerals Inc.

Sunoco Inc. announced that Brian P. MacDonald will join the company as Senior VP and CFO. MacDonald worked most recently for Dell Inc., where he served as CFO for the company’s commercial business unit.

GEODynamics B.V., a technology development company focused on high-performance perforating systems, announced that Matt Bell, currently VP-Technology, has been appointed President and CEO. He succeeds co-founder, President and CEO David Wesson. The company was  founded in 2004.

Donald B. Vandergrift has been appointed President and COO of Forest Gate Energy Inc., and will also join the company’s board of directors. Michael C. Judson will remain Chairman and CEO, and Curtis Hartzler has been appointed VP, Operations.
