Wood Group Pressure Control, part of international energy services company John Wood Group PLC, has appointed Will Denyko to US Service Director and Loren Boisvert to US Operations Manager. Before joining Pressure Control, Denyko worked for FMC, training service technicians in offshore wellhead installation. Boisvert has 14 years of industry experience, most recently as VP and General Manager for Wood Group Pressure Control (Canada). Also, Jim Renfroe has been named Group Executive Director for Wood Group’s Well Support division. Before joining the company, he had a 30-year career with Halliburton.

David Silver has joined Fulbright & Jaworski LLP as a partner in Dubai, where he will represent corporate, energy and finance clients in the Persian Gulf and surrounding region. Also, Fulbright partner David Moroney will split his time between Dubai and London as the head of the firm’s Middle East Energy practice. Fulbright has also added Associate Lyle Guard, who advises clients on corporate finance, corporate matters and emissions trading.

John Lindsay, Executive VP, US and International Operations, Helmerich & Payne International Drilling Co., has been elected 2008 Chairman of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC). In addition, Claus Hemmingsen, CEO of Maersk Contractors, was elected Vice Chairman. Other newly elected officers include: Secretary-Treasurer-Phil Rider, Assistant Controller, Accounting, Reporting and Compliance for Transocean; President-Lee Hunt, IADC; Senior VP, Government Affairs-Brian Petty, IADC; VP, Land Division-David Russell, Executive VP, Drilling Operations, Rowan Companies; VP, Offshore Division-Tim Juran, Senior VP Deepwater Units Americas, Seadrill; and VP, Drilling Services Division-Steve Richards, VP Operations Support, Key Energy Services.

South Texas Oil Co. has appointed current President Scott Zimmerman as CEO. Zimmerman, who will retain his position as President, also joined the company’s board of directors. He replaces former CEO Murray Conradie, who will continue in a strategic advisory capacity. Also, the board has elected Michael Pawelek as new Chairman and outside Director. Pawelek has had a 27-year career in the E&P and oilfield service industries, including as CEO of Universal Seismic Associates and President at BOSS Exploration & Production Corp. He is currently President of San Antonio-based Sonterra Resources, Inc.

Baker Hughes Inc. appointed Jan Kees van Gaalen as VP and Treasurer. He replaces Douglas Doty, who retired from the company. Van Gaalen joined Baker Hughes from Indonesia-based PT Inco Tbk, where he served as CFO.

Object Reservoir Inc., a software and service company serving the global oil and gas industry, has named Russ Krauss as VP of Marketing. Krauss has 25 years of industry experience, most recently as VP of Marketing at Knowledge Reservoir. Also, the company announced that Tammy Tiedt has been promoted to Human Resources Director.

Colorado-based E&P company JayHawk Energy, Inc., has hired Darren Schoenroth as VP of Operations. Schoenroth has over 20 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with particular expertise in stimulations, production enhancement, secondary recoveries, horizontal and slant wellbores.

The board of the US Oil & Gas Association (USOGA) has elected Albert L. Modiano as the association’s new President. Modiano currently serves as USOGA’s VP. He has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and the federal government, having served as Deputy Director of the US Department of the Interior’s Mineral Management Service prior to joining USOGA.

Downhole swellable elastomer specialist company Swellfix has appointed Pascal Blanchard as a new VP for the company’s African operations. Blanchard, who has over 27 years of industry experience, will be based in Paris and at the company’s offices in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. He has held a number of senior positions in Africa and Europe, most recently as Global Business Alignment Manager for Weatherford International.

Harry Urech has been named Business Development Manager for InterMoor Inc., an Acteon company. He has over 25 years of industry experience. Before joining InterMoor, Urech worked for Samson Ropes.

CIT Group Inc. announced the appointment of Peter Gaw as President of CIT Energy. Previously, Gaw was an Executive VP and Head of Energy & Resources Americas and Global Head of Power & Utilities at ABN AMRO Bank.

CCSI, a provider of coating application services for the oil and gas industry, appointed Ron Raphoon as Branch Manager of the company’s Bakersfield, California, office.

Paradigm has announced the appointment of James Lamb as US regional VP, and Serge Sauvagnac as VP Business Development, Premier Partners. Lamb previously served as VP of Business Development leading the Paradigm Premier Partners Program and as regional VP of the company’s Canada region. Sauvagnac was Global Account Manager and Country Manager of Paradigm Indonesia.

Bois d’Arc Energy, Inc., announced that Greg T. Martin was promoted to COO. He originally joined Bois d’Arc Offshore in July 1998. The company also announced that James P. Perkins was promoted to VP of Land, and Sandra L. Bench was named Controller.
