Personnel changes and promotions in the petroleum industry

Tyler Bryson has been promoted to General Manager of Microsoft’s US Oil and Gas unit. Previously he was US high-tech manufacturing industry solutions Director. Craig Hodges remains director of the company’s US Energy and Chemicals Industry.

Dr. Peter M. Duncan, CEO of Micro​Seismic, Inc., has been selected by the SEG and the AAPG as Distinguished Lecturer for fall 2008. In this capacity, Duncan will lecture on microseismic monitoring and life-of-field passive seismic imaging for hydrocarbon resource development and production, delivering presentations throughout the US, as well as to a worldwide audience.

Nelson Ney has been appointed President of Centrilift and also VP of Baker Hughes Inc. Ney previously served as Operations VP for Hughes Christensen’s Europe, Africa, Russia and Caspian region since November 2006. Prior to November 2006, he served as Operations VP for Centrilift’s Latin America region.

BreitBurn Energy Partners L.P. has appointed Mark L. Pease as COO, overseeing operations from the company’s Houston office. He has more than 27 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with Anadarko Petroleum, where he was a Senior VP responsible for North America E&P.

Lufkin Industries, Inc., announced that Mark E. Crews has been named VP and General Manager of the company’s Oil Field Division. Crews is a 29-year veteran of the oil field products, systems and services industry, coming to Lufkin from Cameron International Corp., where he served as VP, Technology.

Geomodeling Technology Corp. has named Mike Odell as CEO. He has had a 35-year career with various software and energy-based companies. Most recently, Odell was VP and General Manager, Energy Division, with MetaCarta, Inc. Prior to that, he served as President and CEO of Elumens Corp.

OMNI Energy Services Corp. appointed Brian Recatto to the position of COO. He joined OMNI as VP in March 2007 when the company acquired Charles Holston, Inc., where he served as President since 2004. Also, the company named Ronald D. Mogel as Senior VP and CFO. Mogel joins OMNI from Horizon Offshore Inc., which was acquired by Cal Dive International, Inc., in December 2007.

Mike Brady has been named Director of Human Resources for Knight and its operating companies. He most recently was employed as District Manager for Human Resources for a Fortune 500 company in West Texas. Also, Doug Freeman has been named as the Fishing Services Manager for Knight’s new Alice, Texas, location and will oversee daily operations. The new office will provide fishing tools, services and dedicated personnel to the South Texas region.

Superior Energy Services, Inc., announced that Charles Hardy has been named Executive VP, Marine Services. Hardy has more than 30 years of industry experience in various management and operational positions with various marine and oilfield service companies. He has been with Superior since 2004, and most recently served as VP and General Manager, Marine Services.

Noble Corp. has named David W. Williams as Chairman, CEO and President of the corporation. Williams joined Noble in September 2006 as Senior VP, Business Development, of Noble Drilling Services Inc. He became Senior VP and COO of Noble Corp. in April 2007. Williams has 28 years of energy industry experience, and prior to joining Noble, served as Executive VP of Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc.

CGGVeritas announced today that the company’s Geophysical Services has been placed under the direction of M. Thierry Le Roux, Group President and COO of CGGVeritas.

BJ Process and Pipeline Services has appointed Toni Loder as Operations Manager, Eastern Canada, overseeing all financial and operations management for the division throughout the Atlantic Provinces. She has over 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, most notably as the cementing engineer on the Terra Nova Project for Petro-Canada.

Jamie Efurd has been named Account Associate for Foster Marketing Communications. She was previously Marketing Director responsible for new business development, marketing communications planning/implementation, brand integrity and event planning.

Denver-based Teton Energy Corp. appointed Lonnie Brock as Executive VP and CFO. He has over 30 years in accounting and management experience in the Rocky Mountain basins of the Western US. Brock is the former CFO of Double Eagle Petroleum Co.

Stefan Ricketts, former General Counsel for BG Group, has joined Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P.’s energy practice in London. He will later move to the firm’s Hong Kong office, where he will continue the ongoing expansion of its global energy practice.

Calgary-based Highpine Oil & Gas Ltd announced that Jonathan Lexier will become President and CEO. Gordon Stollery, interim President and CEO, will remain a director. Lexier is currently COO for NAL Resources.
