Wood Group ESP, a subsidiary of John Wood Group PLC, has named Andrey Ostisty as business development manager for the company’s operations in Russia and other CIS countries. Based in Moscow, Ostisty has 19 years of industry experience. Also, Wood Group ESP appointed Trevor Adams to the new position of country manager for Libya. He has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including 12 years in the electric submersible pump market. Adams has been with WGESP since 2004. W&T Offshore, Inc., has promoted Stephen L. Schroeder to COO. He joined the company in 1998 as staff reservoir engineer, and served as production manager from 1999 until July 2005. Schroeder most recently served as VP, Production. Prior to joining W&T Offshore, he was with Exxon for 13 years.

W&T Offshore, Inc., has promoted Stephen L. Schroeder to COO. He joined the company in 1998 as staff reservoir engineer, and served as production manager from 1999 until July 2005. Schroeder most recently served as VP, Production. Prior to joining W&T Offshore, he was with Exxon for 13 years.

Kevin Neeley joined The Yuma Companies, Inc., as VP of acquisitions. Previously, he was managing director at Wells Fargo Energy Advisors. Before that, he was director of the Banc One Capital Markets E&P Mergers and Acquisitions practice, and business development manager at Unocal Corp.

Superior Energy Services promoted Paul Harris to international business development manager, Marine Division. Harris has been with the division for the past three years, most recently in overall business development. Before joining the company, he worked for Danos & Curole and the Natco Group, developing trade with the UK, Nigeria and Canada.

Madagascar Oil Ltd (MOL) has appointed Alex Archila as joint CEO. The roles and responsibilities of this position will be held jointly with current CEO and company founder Sam Malin during an interim period. Archila joins MOL from Chevron Ltd, where he served as president during the past four years, and was also a member of Chevron Corp.’s management committee.

Dr. Ian Hudson has joined Transocean as corporate environmental advisor. Before joining the company, Hudson headed the SERPENT Project, a worldwide scientific collaboration with the energy industry for which Transocean is a founding partner and contributor. He will continue to chair the SERPENT Project Advisory Panel.

Russell Crofts was named managing director for Premier Oilfield Rentals, a Superior Energy Services company. He has been with Premier, headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland, for the past 25 years, most recently as director of corporate services.

MENCK, an Acteon company, has named Christoph Daum as its new managing director. Daum has 15 years of experience in the subsea oil and gas business, including roles in equipment supply and contracting. He joins MENCK from Norddeutsche Seekabel Werke AG, where he was divisional director for project implementation.

Enventure Global Technology has added Milciades Perez as technical sales representative in Venezuela. Perez will work at establishing new markets for the company’s solid expandable tubular products and services. He has more than eight years of technical experience, including sales and engineering positions at Halliburton in Venezuela and Trinidad.

TX Holdings, Inc., has hired W.A. “Bill” Alexander as its COO. Alexander joins the company with extensive experience in all areas of petroleum engineering, field operations and reservoir engineering. Previously, he was a general manager at Natomas, N.A., and was VP of engineering and operations at Kirby Exploration Co.

Black & Veatch has made three new additions to its legal staff. Peter Loftspring, assistant general counsel, is based in Overland Park, Kan., and is responsible for handling legal matters, as well as administrative duties in the department. Peter Chiang ,senior attorney, is headquartered in Beijing and handles legal matters for Asia, New Zealand and Australia operations. Christine Anne Kiernan ,senior attorney, is based in Red Hill, UK, and will provide legal support for the company’s energy business in Europe.

AlMansoori Specialized Engineering (MSE) has made two key additions in its HSEQ management team. The company has appointed Dr. Edna Aricaya-Huevos and Graham Caie as HSEQ advisors. Huevos, a practicing physician, will monitor, manage and promote better health and lifestyle in the company. Aberdeen-born Caie has been appointed as HSEQ advisor for AlMansoori Tubular Inspection Services, a division of MSE, and the company’s Qatar and Saudi Arabia operations.

CIT Group Inc. appointed of John Sullivan as managing director. In his new position, Sullivan will be responsible for increasing the company’s energy syndications and capital placement business. In addition, CIT also appointed Drew Carleton as a senior associate, also focusing on energy capital markets, and reporting to Sullivan. Prior to joining CIT, Sullivan served as a managing director at BNP Paribas. Carleton also worked with Sullivan at BNP Paribas and at Barclays Capital, focusing on energy-related businesses.

   Gulf Publishing Co. announces recent promotions   
   Pruner


Alexandra Pruner has been named Publisher of World Oil magazine effective October 1, 2006. The announcement was made by John D. “Rusty” Meador, president and CEO of Gulf Publishing Company.

Prior to being named Publisher, Pruner was senior VP of Gulf Publishing Co., overseeing the development of Gulf’s events business, covering a variety of technical and marketing conference disciplines focused mainly on the upstream oil and gas sector. She also serves as managing director of Gulf Research, a joint venture between Gulf Publishing Co. and Gelb Consulting.

“Alie Pruner is the first woman to serve as publisher of any of Gulf Publishing Company’s magazines in its 90-year history,” Meador stated. “She brings a wealth of industry knowledge and experience that will greatly enhance World Oil’s leadership position in the global upstream sector of the oil and gas industry publishing market.”

During her 20-year career, Pruner has gained strong experience in the oil and gas industry, having served as VP of marketing for an energy ecommerce company as well as the director of investor relations and corporate communications for upstream and downstream companies. She also served as VP of Corporate Affairs for the investment banking firm Shearson Lehman Brothers at the company’s headquarters in New York.


Higgins

Ron Higgins has been promoted to VP of sales for World Oil magazine effective October 1. Higgins was previously appointed associate publisher of World Oil in April 2005, and will retain that title. He has been in the oil and gas publishing industry for over 36 years. Prior to joining Gulf Publishing Co., he worked for Pennwell Publishing Co. for 34 years, covering most of the United States and Canada for advertising sales in Oil & Gas Journal, Offshore and most recently, the Journal of Petroleum Technology.
