James Curtis was appointed technical manager with the BJ Services Well Services Division for Europe and Africa. Curtis has 16 years of experience in production enhancement, reservoir conformance, coiled tubing, sand control, zonal isolation and completion services. Prior to this, he worked for BJ Services in Rio de Janeiro as Latin American region technical manager.

Boots & Coots International Well Control named Larry Burleson director of global relations. Burleson has over 29 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with the past 20 focusing on well control. Most recently, he was director of sales for Wild Well Control.

Larry Hammond joined Enerplus Resources Fund as VP, operations. He brings a technical background of over 17 years experience in the oil and gas industry, most recently with EnCana Corp. Hammond’s expertise is primarily in the Western Canadian Sedimentary basin. He also has experience in Russia and Hibernia.

Lyndon C. Taylor has joined Devon Energy Corp. as deputy general counsel. Taylor comes to Devon from the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he served as managing partner of the firm’s Houston office.

Ray Jones, a 35-year veteran of the energy industry, has joined the Ernst & Young Energy Center, which provides quality assurance, tax, transaction and risk management services to oil and gas, chemical and utility companies. Jones has worked with clients across virtually all phases of the energy industry, including exploration, production, midstream, refining and marketing. Prior to joining Ernst & Young, he served as the head of Arthur Andersen’s worldwide oil and gas tax services practice for more than 20 years, and was the principal editor of Andersen’s energy tax treatise.

EV Offshore Ltd appointed Darren Bowyer as general manager of the company’s operations base in Aberdeen, Scotland. With 13 years of oil and gas experience, Bowyer has worked in a variety of operational, technical and sales roles in Scotland and England, most recently as a technical sales engineer for Oil States MCS Ltd in Aberdeen.

Superior Energy Services promoted J. R. Gibbons to VP-operations for its Electric Line Division. Gibbons has more than 24 years of operational and safety assurance experience in the oil and gas industry, serving in a managerial role for a Superior Energy. Most recently, he was VP of QHSE (Quality Health, Safety and Environment) for the Production Maintenance Group. 

Landmark has named Dave Williams the new director of geological and geophysical technologies. In this role, he will be responsible for the business unit management of Landmark’s geoscience software organization. Also, Nick Purday was promoted to senior manager of geological and geophysical strategy, and business management, responsible for overseeing Landmark’s geoscience software product management. Stewart Levin has been appointed a geophysical research fellow. Stewart has been with Landmark since 1998 as a senior geophysicist, and served previously in positions at both Western Geophysical and Mobil Research and Development. He has published over 50 technical papers.

AnTech Ltd appointed Nigel Rowcliffe to the position of development engineer. Rowcliffe is the first person to become a permanent employee as the direct result of completing AnTech’s Graduate Recruitment Program. The program is closely linked with the national Year in Industry training scheme, which aims to match young people who want to gain job experience with companies seeking to train potential employees before they enter university.

VAM PTS, part of V&M Tubes’ North American oil country tubular goods (OCTG) division, named Monica Dobre and Will Schilling to new positions. Dobre has been appointed an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) sales and service representative. She most recently served in an inside sales role at VAM PTS and has held sales, marketing and engineering positions with an international oil and gas operator. Schilling was named major accounts manager, responsible for marketing tubing and casing connections in the Southwest and Rocky Mountain areas.

OceanWorks International, Inc., has appointed Rod Stanley as CEO. He has over 35 years of offshore industry experience, including service as VP at Oceaneering International, founder and CEO of Sonsub International, and president and CEO of American Oilfield Divers. Stanley joins the company’s board of directors and will focus on strategic development. OceanWorks’ president John Jacobson remains on the board and assumes the additional role of COO.

PSL Energy Services Ltd appointed Tim Ingram as corporate QHSE director, with responsibility for UK and international QHSE functions. Ingram joins the Aberdeen-based oil and gas services specialist from the UK Health & Safety Executive office, where he was HM principal inspector of health and safety. He has 25 years of experience in UK pipeline and installation operations, in both technical and managerial roles,. He worked for Marathon Oil and Texaco before joining the UK HSE office in 1992.
