Judson Wallace was named VP, manufacturing operations, for Grant Prideco’s Tubular Technology and Services division. Wallace has more than 25 years of manufacturing experience at Baker Hughes, where he was most recently director of manufacturing for Baker Oil Tools’ manufacturing plants in Houston and Yorktown, Texas, and Camden, Ark.

Veritas DGC Inc. appointed Dr. Scott Cheadle as depth imaging manager, Canadian Land Processing. He joined Veritas in 1990 as a research programmer, and has held several roles in R&D, most recently as geophysical advisor at Veritas. Also joining the depth imaging team is Dr. Graziella Kirtland Grech as technical advisor. She has been with Veritas since 2000, involved in research, multi-component seismic and time processing. 

Kerr-McGee named Don Vardeman VP of marine engineering. Vardeman has 25 years with Kerr-McGee and nearly 30 years in the oil and gas industry. He started with Sun E&P, a predecessor of Oryx Energy and Kerr-McGee, in 1979 as district electrical engineer. 

Parker Drilling Co. appointed David C. Mannon as senior VP and COO. Mannon has 24 years of experience in the drilling industry, most recently as CEO of Noble Drilling, a position he held since 2003. 

Amerada Hess announced a series of changes in its E&P senior management team. A Global New Business Development organization will be formed within E&P that will be responsible for securing material business opportunities to support the strategic business goals. Howard Paver, currently senior VP, Europe, North Africa & Asia, will move to the newly created position of senior VP, Global New Business Development.  George Sandison, senior VP, Americas & West Africa, will relocate to London to become senior VP, Europe, North Africa & Asia Production. Scott Heck, VP, West Africa, is promoted to senior VP, Americas & West Africa Production. He will be based in Houston.

AnTech Ltd. appointed Alaina Tan electronics engineer with the Special Engineering Projects department, and named Valentin Balaschenko senior software engineer with AnTech Oilfield Software, a division of AnTech. Tan will play a role in all stages of circuit design and PCB layout, production and testing, and will provide special expertise in Texas Instruments Firmware. Balaschenko’s primary responsibilities are to improve and expand the company’s suite of StringView software. 

Newpark Environmental Services appointed Tony A. Vicknair VP, sales and marketing. Vicknair has more than 34 years of experience in sales and business development in the Gulf Coast oil and gas industry. He most recently served as a senior account representative for Halliburton.

Petrofac Facilities Management appointed Robin Watson as director, Integrated Services. In his new role, Watson is responsible for delivery of the company’s integrated services portfolio covering operations, maintenance, supply chain and engineering services to key North Sea operations.

ChevronTexaco announced several senior executive appointments. George Kirkland was appointed executive VP, upstream. He will have responsibility for the company’s global exploration, production and gas activities. Replacing Kirkland as VP, ChevronTexaco Overseas Petroleum, is John Watson, who will become responsible for managing all E&P activities outside of North America. Replacing Watson as VP, finance, and CFO is Steve Crowe. He will be responsible for the finance function worldwide, including audit, treasury, tax and investor relations. Replacing Crowe as VP and comptroller is Mark Humphrey, whose new responsibilities are corporate-wide accounting, financial reporting and analysis, controls and actuarial functions. Humphrey was general manager of ChevronTexaco’s Financial Services Center. 

Consultancy firm Hugh Fraser International has joined forces with two oil and gas industry professionals to source expansion opportunities for North Sea companies in the Middle East. Well services specialist Tim Eley and well support expert Ahmed Al Mashgari will work as consultants for HFI’s Ventures International support service. Eley is a past chairman of the International Coiled Tubing Association and has more than 25 years’ experience with well services companies. Al Mashgari has had a 22-year career in the oil and gas industry and is a specialist in submersible pump systems. 

PanOcean Energy Corporation Ltd. appointed Paul L. Keyes as president and CEO. Formerly, Keyes was VP of exploration for Pennzoil Exploration and Production Co. He subsequently became a consultant, and has advised PanOcean and predecessor companies since 1998. He has been a company director for five years.

Varel International, a global supplier of drill bits for the oil & gas industry, has hired Bob Dickenson as its new oilfield roller cone product manager. He will serve as the primary product liaison for both Western Hemisphere oilfield sales and service personnel and Eastern Hemisphere product managers, and will manage Varel’s roller cone product development direction.

FMC Technologies, Inc., named David W. Grzebinski, CFA, to the position of treasurer. Grzebinski had been director of industry relations and global SAP for FMC Technologies’ energy businesses since August 2003. Grzebinski joined FMC Technologies’ former parent company, FMC Corp., in 1998.

   Pruner

Alexandra Pruner has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Strategic Business Development. Prior to joining Gulf Publishing in April 2002 as Vice President, Pruner spent two years in the energy technology sector and previously worked for an E&P company and investment bank. She received her BA in Economics from Brown University in 1983.

  
   Baker

Bill Baker has been promoted to Associate Publisher, Hydrocarbon Processing. Baker is a 20-year veteran with Gulf Publishing Company serving as the District Manager based in Irvine, CA. He is a past President of the Los Angeles Chapter of NOMADS and board member of R. M. Pyles Boys Camp. Bill received a BA in Business Administration from Texas Tech University. 

  
   Brady

Kevin Brady has been promoted to Publisher of World Oil. Prior to joining World Oil as Associate Publisher, Brady was the Corporate Marketing Manager for Precision Drilling Corporation in Houston. He also served as Marketing Communications Manager for Halliburton/ Sperry-Sun. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Geology from Louisiana State University and his Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Houston.

  
     

Nora Varty has been promoted to Program Director, Gulf Events. In her new role, Nora will assume day-to-day management of all Gulf Events including the World Oil Awards, Casing While Drilling Conference, World Oil Visualization Showcase and others. Nora is a graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
